An Irishman was flustered not being able to find a parking space in a large mall's parking lot.
"Lord,"he prayed,"I can't stand this.If you open a space up for me,I swear I'll give up drinking me whiskey, and I promise to go to church every Sunday."
Suddenly, the clouds parted and the sun shone on an empty parking spot. Without hesitation, the man said,"Never mind,I found one."

More and more people across the entire country are supporting stronger gun controls. Some people are simply saying ‘enough is enough’ and not all of them live a cushy existence with plenty of cops nearby.

Most of them probably do though but I think over time even more people from all parts of the country will be in favour of greater gun controls.

You can take your pets in carry on luggage in the States.

When we flew from LA to NYC around Xmas eve there was literally a dozen dogs waiting at the boarding gate. Owners have mesh sided carry-on bags for their cats / dogs.

The rest of the world have a different view of pets than us. Not unusual to see a dog in a department store in NYC or Paris.

I don't think we tolerate pets anywhere (cabs trains cafes etc) unless they provide formal assistance to the disabled.
What if the mongrel takes a dump?

The thing is, if you ban guns only the criminals will have them. That mightn't be a problem in a place with f**k all guns and strong borders, but that doesn't describe the USA. You don't even need a boat to get inside.

Pretty sure that gun reform does not mean ban all guns. The movement in the USA #neveragain is aimed at banning the category of semiautomatic killing machines like the AR15 together with bump stocks. They want strict background checks for all firearms and cooling off periods.

In fairness there are quite a lot of people in the states that want to change gun laws.

At the moment, most of them are school kids marching and protesting their arses off and really making the adults look like morons, as these kids make sense.

And whats making the pollies listen is when a lot of them say that in a year or so we can all vote.

That's fine. My point is that more and more people don't care about that. You were originally suggesting something to the contrary which I thought was a misleading generalisation.

I agree it’s too easy to get a gun in the US, but gradually banning guns category is a proven slippery slope. First it was automatics, now semi-automatics. Next they’ll come for the revolvers.

How was it misleading? A person’s requirement for self-defence is based on the security infrastructure available where he lives. If increasing numbers of people are against gun ownership it’s because they are forced to move to crowded cities to find work. At least in these places high crime means a large police presence.

Yes. Every single person who is coming out and being more vocal about gun control lives in area with a large police presence. Every. Single. Person.

Not a misleading statement at all.

Generalisations aren’t about every single person. It’s misleading to suggest they are.
