My first car was a VL. No turbo though. Loved it.

Also had a VZ at one stage as well, and I really enjoyed driving that.
Now I drive a Kia Sportage. Nowhere near as fun to drive.
Every car looks the same these days and have done so for quite some time. Badge engineering with a few tweaks has seen to that. It's no surprise that you're driving a Kia. Even a Porsche SUV looks like an Outlander from a distance these days. Of course, the 20's colours hit you in the face with their flat greys and greens.

I drive the Kia because it was a decent bang-for-buck small SUV that I needed to get after having a kid.
Would love to upgrade at some stage, but will drive this one into the ground before I do. No use getting a new car whilst the kids are still young and will just trash it.

Maybe I should get one of these:

You must be on the big coin if you want a Cybertruck. I would assume you want the AWD so you're looking at $130K AU plus shipping and a conversion to RHD. Are you an NRL players agent?

Superannuation and Medicare are the two greatest achievements of Labor in my lifetime. The 38 hr week is up there too I suppose.

the NDIS, deregulation of the economy and floating the AUD, dropping the corporate tax rate from 46% to 36%. there's plenty

But it was the great man Gough, who in three short years changed the very fabric of our nation,

Medicare
Ended conscription
Single moms pension
Established the family court
Free tertiary education
f**ked off God save the queen for Advance Australia Fair
Papua New Guinea independence, etc etc

Righties love to bag the great man, but none of them will ever achieve anything near as much did he

A HILUX or Ranger with a canopy added and a few small extras for work will come in at 90k or close. 130k isn't that much more. I agree that it is a lot of money for a car.

In 2015 I purchased an SV6 brand new for 32k. I am avoiding a new car based on not being able to afford 90k for a car and obviously driving the SV6 is far nicer a ride then a 4 x 4.

Sure.
But what about free lunches for us tradesmen? Undervalued, underpaid.

I tend to agree. My local bakery just put the price of their standard mince pie up to $7.00. Looks like you'll have to make your own lunch, Hindy. Egg and lettuce sangas in your mini esky.

Last time I went to footy I paid $9 plus 50cents for a squirt of sauce. Ridiculous

I take lunch. 2 x bits of fruit, 1x le snack, a sandwich/wrap or left overs.

Most burgers are min $14 these days.

I also never buy lunch. Always take all my own food to work.
I can cook an $8 Aldi chook on a Sunday night and get 3 dinners and 3 work lunches (sandwiches or wraps) out of it.
A bit of fruit and a muesli bar and that's lunch. I don't need Dutton's help.

I prefer doing best to eat reasonably healthy during the week and then a little junk come weekends.
Watching others eating a pie and a can of coke at 9am to me is wild.

As much as it looks, smells and tastes good, it's not for me at work. Same as burgers, chips, Macca's, KFC etc....

I have on the odd occasion treated myself to a Bahn Mi for lunch, which isn't actually particularly unhealthy.
I even make my own coffee every morning to take to work.

I used to make my own lunch from either the previous night's leftovers or mix and match sandwiches from whatever we had in the fridge. Sometimes I would buy a cut madeira cake from Coles and slice it up to last the week for morno's along with some fruit. You did what you had to do.
