The North Sydney Bears will be holding open trials for the 2008 season on Saturday the 6th of October at T.G. Milner Field, Vimiera Road, Marsfield.
Harold Matthews (U16s) will be held on Saturday 6th of October from 8:30 a.m.
S.G. Ball (U18s) will be held on Saturday 6th of October from 11:00 a.m.
Successful players will be invited to return the following weekend (time to be announced) to trial again.

The North Sydney Junior Rep sides have produced some outstanding players in recent years.
Current NRL players Mark O’Meley, Matt King, Matt Orford, Chris Heighington, Brett Kearney and Lee Te Maari all played in junior sides for the Bears in previous years.
More recently the Bears have produced two players are now fulltime rugby league players:
Mitchell Pearce (2004, 2005) halfback – Sydney City Roosters. Australian Schoolboys rep. NSW Under-17s rep
Liam Foran (2004, 2005, 2006) halfback – Melbourne Storm. Australian Schoolboys rep
North Sydney’s feeder relationship with the South Sydney Rabbitohs creates a pathway for Bears juniors to progress through to the NRL. A number of Bears junior players look set to be in South Sydney’s squad for the new National Youth Competition in 2008. These include:
John Kaifoto (2007) second row/prop
Brad Lupi (2007) second row/lock
Mitch Williams (2006, 2007) hooker/halfback
Tim McDonald (2006, 2007) second row/prop
Chris Farrell (2007) lock
At least 10 other players who have played SG Ball or Harold Matthews for North Sydney look set to play in the new National Youth Competition competition next year after being spotted by these clubs while playing for Norths. These players include:
Jake Foster (2006, 2007) centre/five-eighth/second row – Canterbury Bulldogs
Ashley Calvert-Evers (2005, 2006, 2007) halfback – Canterbury Bulldogs or Manly Sea Eagles
Kieran Foran (2005, 2006) centre/five-eighth – Manly Sea Eagles. Australian Schoolboys rep
Stanley Waqa (2004) prop – Sydney City Roosters. NSW Under-17s rep
Ben Falcone (2004) wing – Wests Tigers.
Ben Vengoa (2004, 2005) wing – Wests Tigers.
Brendan Vengoa (2004, 2005) lock – Wests Tigers.
Nathan Campbell (2004, 2005) five-eighth – Parramatta.
Jamie Tonga (2006) lock – Manly Sea Eagles.
Judah Wikeepa (2006) second row – Cronulla Sharks.
