Its highly unlikely Storm would ever play at the MCG during September for obvious reasons down there.

Etihad maybe, as they have done in the past.

No need, aami is a brilliant venue and plenty big enough for storms games.

Heres my tip...

Manly v Souths (ANZ) 7.45 Friday
Roosters v Penrith (SFS) 6.30 Sat
NQ v BRIS (TVL) 8.30 Sat
STORM V Canterbury (AAMI) 4pm Sunday

they surely wont make Manly play at ANZ against souths.

Then again the NRL's favouritism for Souffs knows no bounds. Its as bad as when they switched prelim venues in 1998 so that the Broncos - who'd lost week 1 and thus their right to be in the prelim set for Suncorp - could play in Brisbane.

Nevermind though. Manly will crunch them

your are right, but i cant see them freezing ANZ from week 1 ...

Brookvale to ANZ is 30km, Brookvale to SFS is 20km..

Souths already saying Allianz on Twitter.

I think it will be on the Sat because you could get 10k more than on a Friday. Whereas Easts v NQ/Penrith will get around the same regardless of Fri or Sat.

I agree it SHOULD be on saturday at Allianz. You'll get more way more Manly fans there on that night, and souths would obviously travel to ANZ but they'll still get more at the SFS as well.

I can just see channel 9 wanting their beloved bunnies on friday night and getting what they want.

As I said in another thread before some one moved it...a very real scenario is the panthers finishing higher but playing their final at the dogs home ground

Wtf?)

I know it will never happen, but wouldn't it be nice to have the Sat games on at 3:30pm and 7pm? That way both Saturday games are treated with the respect they deserve in terms of pre/post-game analysis.

But 9 will just cram them both in between 6:30-10:30.

I would love a day final on saturday to be introduced, with the 2nd final that night. No reason to have them basically as a double header given we can actually have situations in which the first part of a final is missed like in 2010.

My wife thought of an even funnier friday night game next week. Warriors lose tomorrow, Broncos come 8th. Friday night is then Cowboys vs Broncos in Townsville... wouldn't put it past them tbh

I don't care who it is, Manly, Cronulla, f**king Annandale: if Sydney teams don't have enough fans to get a decent crowd at a Sydney stadium than maybe they should give up and play hopscotch. You can blame channel 9, the weather, the lack of cushioning in the seats, whatever you like. The bottom line is its finals time. If you're a fan of your team then make the effort to go and see them or f**k off and stop complaining.

Why the f**k should your backwater team be entitled to a qualifying final or a semi final in your shithole stadium, but Sydney teams don't have the right to host games in their shithole stadiums? It's a pathetic double standard.

It SHOULD be on Sat night, but it WON'T as tv rules the roost and therefore Manly vs Souffs will outrate Roosters vs Cowboys/Panthers

I'll take a nibble on this as a Manly fan.

Why should we be disadvantaged to Souths despite finishing higher on the ladder in the following ways:
1. A shorter turnaround
2. Play at their home ground
3. Their preferred time slot

This whole regional home ground thing is a crock of steaming crap. If you win the right to play a home final, it should be at your home. Not your opponents EVER! Obviously unless you share the same ground.

This game should be at SFS. It should be on Saturday to make travel easier. And as the team finishing 2nd, we should get to pick the time we want on Saturday. And just to make it clear, if we are not good enough to ensure we have the stadium booked over AFL, we should be leaving the venue out in the cold as much as we can, in preference of a venue that will give us priority all year round.

It will definitely be at the SFS that's confirmed. I agree with you and I hope it's on Saturday. But I think Ch 9 will probably get their way and it will most likely be Friday night.

You guys playing at Allianz means it's not too far for Manly's players to go compared to ANZ which is an advantage.

Not sure how accurate the information is considering it's coming from Ray Hadley.

He is saying that ANZ Stadium have a clause into their contract with the NRL that says they get to host a match every week during the NRL finals series.

If Panthers win today and miss out on a week one home final that would leave the NRL with a decision as to whether to move the Moanly v Souths match or maybe pay ANZ Stadium some sort of compensation.
