Well,. the WT website now has taken Corey Payne, Rocky Trimarchi & Wayde Dunley off the NRL squad list.

That leaves 21 players- Ayshford, Dwyer, Ellis, Farah, Galea, Galloway, Gibbs, Gower, Hanbury, Heighington, Lawrence, Lazarus, Lui, Marshall, Mataka, Moltzen, Payten, Ryan, A. Schirnack, Skandalis & Tuiaki.

Now with the other additions we know about (and WT have advised on the website) - J. Schirnack, Mitch Brown, Geoff Daniella, Mark Flanagan. Thats full books folks- 25 players.

Aranda Taumata, Liam Fulton & Tame Tupou have not been confirmed anywhere on the WT website as yet, let alone room for Jeff Lima, Jason Cayless or Lote Taquiri and with the existing squad- only Galea and possibly Skando (if he no longer wishes to play into 2010) leave room for any other players. Maybe that rumour of Lawrence being traded was not too far off the mark? I'd rather say bye to Lui, Mataka and Hanbury than Lawrence to free up room.

1/ where is the international / SOO grade player we were to sign each season (starting with Ellis 2009 season).

2/ at least have the grace to bid the players farewell and wish them luck WT's. I wonder where they have gone?

3/ who else is on the chopping block if we are to sign any of the 'possible' players?

Folkes apparently said on radio today we'd have a squad of 30+.

Skando wont go round again, he needed a medical clearance every week just to get out on the field...tough AS but time to call it a day

Skando will always have my respect. Came back and did us proud- helped when it was really needed, but thankfully he looks like he knows times up. The body held out just long enough- I hope WT can give him a fitting farewell- sort of a shame the fans couldnt say farewell at the last game if he was not going to go around again.

Better tell John then. I hear he's keen to go around again.

We must be the slowest club in communicating with fans- but just cause someone is named at this stage doesnt mean they cant be shuffled around- maybe Schirnack's will play state cup and get a call up to cover injury- look at the bulls side yesterday heaps of NRL fringe players....

I thought Hanbury and Mataka were going, plus you need to add moors. Minus a skando.

Lawrence will be oing no where- I beat my balls on it......

Yep, sorry I forgot Junior Moors coming in too so that means naturally some more departures- at least one.

As to Folkes saying 30+ squad- I thought NRL teams were only allowed 25 fulltime squad members. Naturally others can come in to cover injury / suspension.

If you look back at the WT announcements both the Schirnack brothers were elevated to the fulltime 25 man NRL squad for 2010- 1 year contracts.

I'd certainly be looking to downgrade Lui's contract for next year to State Cup / NYC level- not NRL squad level- he is underdone and needs more time. Same for Mataka- both are nothing special at present and only taking up precious squad space. I reckon others deserve a shot in 2010.

You can have more that 25 in the fulltime squad but only the top 25 will qualify for the salary cap

They have offered Gower no contract and the possibility of match payments.

Nothing else.

Glenn Hall is leaving Manly, maybe they want him;-)

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
By Wayne Cousins

Friday, 6 November 2009
Wests Tigers players returned to Concord Oval today to begin preparations for the 2010 Telstra Premiership.
The NRL squad gathered for a series of tests and information sessions. It was also a chance for new signings Jason Cayless, Mitch Brown, Geoff Daniela, Mark Flanagan, Junior Moors, Arana Taumata and Tame Tupou to meet their new team-mates.
For lock Liam Fulton and utility Daniel Fitzhenry, it was a case of re-acquating themselves with some of their former team-mates.
Wests Tigers Football Operations Manager Alan Mair said it was pleasing to see the players back in the new state of the art gymnasium designed by High Performance Manager Steve Folkes.
“The players underwent endurance, strength and skin folds tests,’’ Mair said.
“They all came back with satisfactory results. Our new players really applied themselves well. The players will start full-time training next week under Assistant Coach Peter Gentle and Steve Folkes.”
Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said one of the top priorities for 2010 was to improve the depth of the NRL squad.
“To this end, we expect to have a full-time squad of 34 players in 2010 along with six additional players who will train full-time over the off-season,’’ Humphreys said.
“If you think about our squad as 40 players, 11 of that squad played in the successful U20s side in 2009. It is great to see so many of our young players earning places in the top squad.”
