We might struggle against the top seeded team in the group, such as a Brazil or Germany, but against the other teams, should be at the least competitive.
Yeah it all depends on which teams are in our group but we will be a nation to be reckoned with and not taken lightly by any country......the Aussies wont be going there to be spectators!
Too right and if Guus can get another 10% out of the team, I honestly believe they are an outside chance at the quarters and will definitely make the second round.
wait to we get our group
against full class like brazil and co we will struggle
but against average , but yet strong countries like sweden , turkey etc i think we can push but then theres a few countries id be very dissapointed if we didnt beat
At the confed. cup we were able to score goals quite well, we just couldn't stop them going in. And now we've got Guus. Hopefully that means something...
Well the way we need to look at it is in terms of how long Guus had them and the vast improvement in defence. They still have some propblems, but they now have the time to work them out.
I'd really like to see a huge improvement in our corner kicks before the finals as well. Mostly, they were terrible.
I think that beating Uruguay is a huge effort. From here, anything other than a Second round performance will be a failure and from there it is knockout so who knows. A few good results here and there and suddenly a draw can open up. I tend to think we are a class striker or two short of causing any real damage though.
Well done Australia.
Not a big fan of soccer but that was one of the best sporting moments ive seen in my 20 years.
Nibbs stop being such a damn jobber.
I've always believed that we've had a great bunch of players and would have a very internationally competitive team if they ever actually got the chance to play together regularly.
Our route for qualification has always been a tough one but now that we're finally there and Guss will be able to have the boys together for a proper preparation I think we will be quite strong and put in a good showing.
