Happy New Year

As we move on into 2025 here is my Wishlist. I’m interested to see yours:

1. Another season of record crowds.
2. Queensland to win State of Origin with a one point win in game 3.
3. Perth Bears announced as the latest expansion club to compete in 2028.
4. Record growth in participation across all States and Territories.
5. Anybody but Penrith.
6. Another season of record tv ratings.
7. A continuing decline in player behaviour crap.
8. Record sponsorships of the game at a national level.
9. The game increases its commitment to international footy.
10. Vegas is a resounding success.

Over to you.

A bit of a stretch but NSW government commit to rebuild Accor to a proper rectangular facility.

NRL go balls deep and announce stand-alone NZII along side Perth.

Sandon Smith has a cracker of a year.

All clubs announce a record profit.

Tigers get their shit together.

The Tigers sorting it out was next on my list. I don’t know how their fans put up with this.

1) the game countinues to be attractive to watch to casual fans, open and fast... some teams are starting to play a boring 5 hit ups, kick to the corner, wait for opposition to make a mistake :(

2) NRL signs a record broadcast deal on the back of Perth and NZ2 being announced

3) The Pacific Championships countinue to grow and the Ashes tour gives the game in England the shot in the arm it desperately needs.

Not this world because he is not on anything close to that.

Still the first part of your comment is correct, out management isn't even school boy level

You are paying him $300k to play elsewhere. So he'd be on a decent slab of cash

Bateman the same?

$600k is a decent player. That is why certain clubs stay down there

it’s a horrible contract, however there were circumstances around it. We had just missed Mitch Moses and Luke Brooks had told them he was leaving, it was July and the only half on our books for 2024 had done his ACL 3 months earlier.

Also worth noting it was a Scott Fulton signing who was gone a month later.

I don’t believe we’ve made a really bad roster decision since (admittedly I don’t like Jack Bird, but he’s hardly breaking the bank.

it wasn’t too long ago Penrith we’re paying waqa Blake, RCG, DWZ, Josh man sour etc to play at other clubs.
