I reckon BA has had a buzz word overhaul. "Identity" it is for 2022.
He looks relaxed. I really wished he would have given us a few chords of Stairway to Heaven though.

I was more interested with the barrett discussion and the new recruits this year already questioning his methods compared to more successful clubs haha.

Barrett almost coached manly to their only wooden spoon with the turbo brothers and DCE.

He also through Jackson Hastings to the wolves like he has done to Flanagan.

Barrett has always been smug and to see him snuggling up to gus and posing with photos with Kikau and dining with Mahoney gave me the shits.

Overrated and i wouldnt be disappointed to see him fail tbh.

Good summary. Plus there now seems to be conjecture about his old fashioned coaching methods and not using new wave buzz words like ‘chasing the collision’ ‘intensity’ and ‘attitude’

There was a common view that Cleary Snr would fail as coach because Barrett was the real reason why the Pennys were good. Nope.

The people that held that view are morons.

People will laugh but on playing style and being able to get the best out of players I rate Cleary the same as if not higher then Trent Robinson, but where Robinson has the edge he is a better mentor and people person. But Robinson has always had the best available players and the strongest(when fit) lineups. Cleary has mostly had to restructure clubs from very low positions on the table. Makes a huge difference on your coaching stats and eventual success.

Cleary was finally given a team that was ready to win and guess what? He won.

Or drones tech for training sessions. Maybe with him being a drone himself he feels the club has that totally covered.

He will be sacked before August.

Would not be surprised at all. But the problem then would be who would Gus bring in with such short notice. Would C. Ciraldo be willing to leave the Panthers mid season who maybe on course to win a second title to hookup with a wooden spoon contender?

Probably, if he wants an NRL gig, but more likely he would rather come in fresh at the start of a new pre season and a caretaker coach would be put in place in the interim, with Gus running a muck coaching behind the scenes.

In the latest podcast from Andy Raymond, he chats to Sterlo.

Interestingly Sterlo talks about his second Dad Jack Gibson. Amongst other things he said that Jack was very astute and knew when the time was right to come to the Eels and when to leave. He could see that 81,82,83 was a huge window because of the talent mix of experience and brilliance of youth.

To think I put shit on BA. He’s easily the best coach to have never won a comp since Mick Potter.
