They did let him go. For better or worse Matto walked through the doors of Eels HQ and BA immediately added him to the leadership group. That lasted one season. Not the best look for BA or Matto.

Yep Matto was dropped for the 2021 Elimination Final against Newcastle which was his 2nd season here.

How do you go from the leadership to being dropped for an elimination final.

Its been largely forgotten about but he was suspended for 3 games not 4 games for that hit on Brad Parker.

But he was definitely available for the that semi final game though against the Knights and was dropped/not picked.

BA recalled him for the Penrith final a week later on the bench.

Its why i found it bizarre 6 months later we re-signed him again he was on the outer at end of 2021.

He played one month of decent footy funnily enough playing for a contract which got himself picked for NSW he re-signed shortly after then went back to being Matto.

Tallis isn't afraid of Uncle Nick. Ive seen him hint that the Roosters cheat the cap a number of times while the other guys turn white and can only splutter in response.
