The National Rugby League Board has today clarified its position in relation to striking charges including punching and ‘head-butting’.

Effectively immediately the Board has specified that the following points are to be included in any direction to the NRL Judiciary Panel on charges of striking:

- A deliberate or reckless ‘head-butt’ will constitute ‘striking’ under the code
- Such conduct is both unfair and excessive
- It has no place in our game.

- High profile players may not be charged under this rule

more like the NRL realise they set a precedent that would be challenged by anyone being charged with a headbutt from here on in. They had to "clarify" that "as from now" anyone headbutting will be charged. as I said the game goes from one farce to anther when it somes to refs and the judiciary.

If they would just allow delayed sentences all this could be avoided.

At the end of the day, all the fans want are for the best players to play in the biggest games. That means Jarryd Hayne in SOO and Cameron Smith in a grand final.
