I have no idea why you defend these two imposter but I will never rest. They are the reason we are doing poorly and I suppose you won't realise that until they are gone.

getsmarty, even you could have signed Lomax and probably much sooner than Millward/Mary did. He is red V through and through and wanted to stay. I predict he will be one of our best for many years to come.

Again...A number of incorrect assumptions...
1/. I don't support the current coach..never have..
.2/. millward is not the main issue @ the club
3/. Lomax signed on for a number of years, so there are things happening in the background...( can't say anymore ) to state that anyone could have done the deal without specific knowledge is again just nonsense.

You are making a number of incorrect assumptions..FACT....What your stating is the opposite of what i have been told by people in the game who have contact with players...can't say any more.

Are you dreaming this stuff up ????

Seriously, give everyone a break...At least until the season starts....

Have a Good day possm.

When you say that you will never rest until they are gone what do you mean?
Its just a forum for fans to discuss various topics. I think everyone in here is acutely aware that you oppose the signing of Millward and you aren't satisfied with his performance.
There is really no point continually banging on about it is there? Its not like the more you post about Millward the closer he is to getting fired.
We get it already.

Incorrect..lomax had mulitple clubs after him...we have locked up most of our promising young players coming though...take your millward blinkers off...your obvious agenda is now monotonous and boring..it used to be funny but now it's getting irritating........................

Please give it a Rest.....aim your focus @ 1/. The Board 2/. Coach

Have a good day possm.

Try balancing Lomax’s retention against inadequate players brought on by Millward.

Ravalawa, Pearson, Luke, Williame etc.

It’s pretty clear Millward has failed.

At the start of 2019 the roster looked great.

it’s not just who you recruit, it’s what you do with it. that said, the failure of our centres and FB, and weak wingers hurt us, and should be strengthened, but that requires cash. That’s why I would consider nene under the right conditions. Williame has something to prove, but could be decent and at the right price I understand (another option should others fail at the least). Saab and Lomax could solidify positions, and although it’s not a star back line, the halves and forwards could make it shine with decent coaching.

Our roster is decent - we just need to get the best out of it!

Bring on next year. First and foremost in the firing line is the coach. He is under enormous pressure. The first 6 weeks will paint a clear picture. I can't wait to see how this pans out!

Incumbent QLD reps Hunt & Norman
Incumbent NSW reps Vaughan & Sims
Incumbent English rep Graham

Not a bad group to have on your CV..

What about the other “star” recruits under Millward? Never let facts ruin a good story.

You should work for News Limited.

I’m not really sure what you mean Jimmy.

That’s a pretty solid list of recruits right there, and it’s all factual.

We have assembled a squad who have the capability to be top 4. The reason we’re bottom 4 has nothing to do with Millward.

IMO your post typifies what’s wrong with our club namely classic overreach in respect of the quality of our roster
It has lots of holes in it and has many highly overrated players
FB, centres, wings are highly questionable with little to no back up
New recruits this year are questionable quality
Forwards will struggle yet again if current game plan is continued and in fact a couple of players that were highly prized recruits a year or 2 ago simply aren’t delivering nor making the point of difference that was expected.
Last but not least our halves have failed to deliver the required consistency to keep us a high class attacking unit and the loss of Widdop will not help our cause.
Our best chance is for Flanagan to convince our young players that there is some light at the end of tunnel and to hang in for a couple of years but even then serious rebuilding if the roster is required.

I actually think our recruitment is going okay. We don’t want to waste too much coin with a lot of players coming off contract in 21. Players like Wiliame are very astute and the kind of risks we need to take. A specialist left centre is just what the doctor ordered, Lafai hasn’t been dropped or changed positions once in my memory. Aitken has been shuffled around a bit and even dropped. If the Lomax experiment fails he can go to right centre. We needed a cheap journeyman hooker as McInnes has a good 6-7 years potentially and no promising junior will wait behind him. Saab will play right wing and is signed long term. Merrin is not what he was but he’s an upgrade on Lats. We resigned Sullivan potentially the best 7 we’ve had for decades. We have players like the Feagai bro’s who in my opinion are very close to being NRL ready. We need to give them a clear pathway and I wouldn’t be surprised if one or both debut late in the season. If that happens and they kill it, it saves us a heap of coin for 2021 as we may not need to go to market in those positions. I could go on and on but the point is our smartest move is filling positions we need astutely with an eye on 2021.

Pretty sure I answered this on this thread or elsewhere,

Ravalawa, Pearson, Luke, Williame etc.
- Ravalawa was our top tryscorer this year. Pretty hard to label the bloke who got across the try line more than any other player in our side a “dud”. Good signing by Millward.
- Pearson was a dud, but he’s also been released so that’s saying something too.
- Luke is a NZ international with a premiership ring (pretty sure there may be a World Cup on his CV too) who has come to us very cheap as backup. Pretty harsh to call him a dud when he hasn’t even played a game for us - not to mention only last year he tore us to shreds and stopped our unbeaten run at the start of the season. Another good signing.
- Williame - again not sure how he can be a “dud” for us when he hasn’t even played a game. He’s an unknown at this point.

I’ll give you a couple of dud signings - Maranta and Latimore.

Which means if we look at Millward’s efforts:

Good ‘uns:
- Hunt
- Vaughan
- Norman
- Graham
- Sims
- Ravalawa
- Lomax
- Luke

Unknowns:
- Williame

Marys:
- Pearson
- Latimore
- Maranta

Millward hasn’t failed.

You're talking sense and saying the right words but history shows that the likes of Aitken, Lafai, Lattimore and Allgood were given preference over budding young juniors. I only hope the appointment of Sheppard and Flanagan will make a difference within the coaching staff.

Maybe I’m not expecting miracles but we will definitely be in the hunt for a lower top 8 position might either just sneak in or just miss out.
