Wasn't he the top or near-top try-scorer two seasons in a row for you guys or something? Don't get me wrong, you have every right to be disappointed, but to be honest, I'd swoon to have a player like that in my team lol.

From what I can tell the forward pack will be the focus of our 2014 recruitment by all reports. It is far too early to say with any kind of certainty of course but it would make sense. If we get Folau, we'll have a good young backline - most of them under 25.

1. Hayne/Mullaney 2. Blair 3. Tonga 4. Folau 5. Sio 6. Kelly/Hayne 7. Sandow

Good and young overall, not fantastic by any means. Then in 2014 you switch Tonga for Hopoate. We are banking on some risky moves (players that have been out of the game, rookies, etc) but hopefully it pays off.

Another reason I think this Folau thing failed is because they took a player from a Queensland Club Team and State of Origin Team and said be the face of Western Sydney AFL team. At the time of the signing (09-10) all the hype was around Jarryd Hayne who is a well known face of a Western Sydney Rugby League Side.

The AFL probably would of been wise to go after someone who had a high profile in the Western Sydney District i.e. Hayne, at least it would of probably got a bit more interest from the people in the local area.

There are very few clubs who haven't got that kind of money tied up in two, sometimes 3 players. The only exceptions would be Canberra (only Dugan, maybe Campo would be on a bit), Penrith (only Jennings is on a shitload), Newcastle (only Gids) and possibly the Broncos now Locky is gone.

Clubs use the whole cap almost every year otherwise it is wasted potential.
