Yeah, the original concept was a Rugby League Week thing. At that stage nswrl were not as professional as the nrl is today. You would think the actual league would come up with that concept, given all the professional sports around the world that had their own hall of fame.

Agreed, It took many decades for the NSWRL hierarchy to become truly professional and objective. Clubs were pretty much interested in promoting their own interests and taking ownership of the achievements of their players. If the Hall of Fame concept had been held from the start then we wouldn’t be continually reviewing and nominating players of the distant past.
