NRL Rd 20 2019 - General Non-Warriors Thread

It's gonna be fascinating - or predictable - how the refs go this weekend, particularly in regard to one-on-one strips and forward passes.

How ridiculous it was this week when a workmate told me 'the refs were going harsh on forward passes last weekend because they let a few go the weekend before'. I doubt that was the official case, but in any case, it's a shambles.

The one-on-one strip calls are the most important though, I think we've all agreed on that.

The very integrity of the NRL is on the line here. It becomes a farce when we have no confidence in the calls being consistent, or fair.

Tigers v Cows tonight. I hope Wests make it, it's been too long between drinks. Talk to any Tigers fans and they'll give you the 'refs go hard on us' line. I can relate to that.

The 'Green Machine' have relied on their 80s/90s exploits for far too long. That's a lifetime ago. It's time for a new premiership. If I was a betting man...

Friday night, Broncos at home to the Storm. Who's got the refs in tow? You wouldn't know, would you?

Gee, the Knights are wobbly, and need to win at 'Brookie' to get their season back on track. Best of luck, gentlemen.

Bulldogs v Panthers, if the latter lose, then they look shaky again in regard to their ladder position. Their wretched start to the season may come back to bite them.

Sharks v Rabbs. Johnson needs two good games in a row. Roosters v Tits, come on GC, make the 'spoon interesting.

Dragons v Eels, the former probably know they're gone for '19 if they drop this one. If so, there'll be ramifications, as they had a pretty good squad.

Bring your whistles, Warriors fans!

Think we will have a bit of a come down after last weeks effort, although it is Golden Eagles day with 140 ex players at Brookie so Des might be able to get them up for that

Klemmer v AFB will be one to watch, they nearly ended up in the carpark earlier on in the season and had plenty to say afterwards

Tigers in the eight with a win over the Cows.

The Broncos need the refs tonight to get back in it!

He is a serious footy player

Him being back, along with increased form from Shaun, Dugan and Moylan has these guys right in this comp imo, will be 7th if they go on with this

It's always good to hear Johnson is going good.

Many years ago, Phil Gould once, sagely, said 'when Fui Fui Moi Moi is going good, rugby league is going good.

I believe the same applies to Shaun Johnson.

Dogs showing character the Warriors don’t have

Yeah the dogs were good. Enjoyed that game. Panthers a bit out of sorts.

I think the dogs are slowly turning a corner after a sustained period of mediocrity. The Warriors would do well to watch them closely and take notes.

"Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win..."

How about Kalyn Ponga

Knights can’t win a chook raffle and his manager strolls into the Newcastle office saying we want an upgrade which will see him paid 6mil for 4 years
