There is zero loyalty at the Dogs, as much as they want to play it up that they're a family club and they do welfare better than anyone. They might do loyal well when you're useful to them, I guess. That has Gus' finger prints all over it. I read Andrew Webster's lengthy article last year about Gus, saying that you never know where you stand with the guy. One day you think you're his best mate because you've known him for 20 years, the next day he basically acts like he's never met you.

I thought I read that Xerri's attitude had gone to shit, but I can't remember where I saw that

That attitude stuff is what Ciraldo came up with at his press conference yesterday. Didn’t explain though why a combo of Xerri left and Crichton right that worked exceptionally well last season was swapped for this season. Cynic in me says they are trying to press Xerris buttons to get him out the door and leave money and a spot for Burton

I’m really starting to dislike Crichton as well, he is the new Cam Smith on the park refereeing the game for 80mins and being completely untouchable. Was a clear 6 again that should have been called in the dying stages on him that was let go. Plenty of dirt in him as well that just equates to fines

Tallis would have to be the most compromised, one-eyed knuckle head that's ever been in the media. And that's a competitive race. Guy is a f**king idiot, but Fox love him because he incites reaction.

The guy who sat out a season sooking, is having a go at Reynolds for missing a game.

How about his genius take that the Broncos wouldn't have made the GF without Walsh. Peter Sterling-level analysis, that
Wonder how many Tallis would have won if he didn’t have a State of Origin side around him every season

He must despise his little mate Alfie then who at the first sign of the Broncos dropping down the ladder and having an extremely poor start to a season, pulled up stumps and went to England a third of the way through the year

Panthers addressed last years start… they’re playing a different sport atm. 40-4

Scary stuff, it's not our year when we know Penrith are so good. Down in Melbourne it's 14-0, Storm. Halftime. But that's the exact deficit the Broncos ran down a few times in their run home last year, including the GF.

...and there we go, the Broncos strike first in the second-half, turning their season around? 14-6.
...and another! A Riki double, 14-12, 54th minute. History repeating itself?

My god, Brisbane have done it again. Was there ever any doubt?

18-14, final. That fourteen point deficit is really something with them, they run it down every time and it shows last year's GF was no fluke.

The Dogs - and when we say the Dogs we mean Gus, because he pulls all the strings there - would push their granma into traffic for a business deal. So I have zero doubt they would push Xerri's buttons to get him out, a short time after they signed him off the back of a big drug ban and made out like they were Mother Theresa for doing so

Let no one ever forget the obvious one of Gus saying he'd never met Lachlan Galvin, or that Reed Mahoney should play Origin, only to force him out within the month.

No one will ever touch Cameron Smith as head referee but Crichton is outdoing him for protected species. Crichton would never be banned for a GF as Smith was.

Sharks are an interesting club, consistently ok team, squad doesn’t improve or get worse over any off season. Pretty dour to watch and lack the superstar power. Perennial top 4 contender but never really in contention for the big one. Feels like the course needs to be changed

Fairly slow start to the season for me, didn’t see any of last weekends games. Storm v Broncos was a pretty good contest, Raiders v Dogs was close but ref nailing one side consistently wasn’t entertaining, Warriors v Knights was never going to be close and again ref hammered one side, and Panthers were extremely classy but the game was a blowout

Need a top game to drag me into the season. I won’t see any Friday or Saturday games the next 3 weeks so really hoping for a good one later on from Souths and Tigers

Dolphins 38-10 at Shark Park has got to be setting off alarm bells with Cronulla. It also cruelled most of our tipping.

The Newy DJ knew his stuff. They obviously have that big homage to Silverchair but that extends to the bands that influenced them too.

Smells Like Teen Spirit never sounded better. They played it when the teams ran out for the second-half. I was a bit misty-eyed.
