If I was the kicker I would run towards the defence, kick late any contact with your leg is a Penalty.

Papalii I think has copped a 1 game suspension for a trip, not binned.

The NRL changed the rules this year to prevent blockers protecting the kicker..

So what happens now kickers are easy targets..
