NRL Squad 2015-additions/omissions

Apart from Casty departing and Ferguson possibly signing are there or will there be any additions /omissions to the 25 player NRL squad for 2015 or it's too early.

Meehan and leulai will come into the top squad full time I reckon.

Apart from that I'm not sure unless there's a sneaky pick up we're all unaware of.

I'm still not keen on him, but part of me deep down wants him to come on board. If he can do a Carney of 2010 it would be enormous.

Just dont think I could cop another Carney of 2011 though.

I know we've signed Abraham Papalii (21 yr old backrower) from the Warriors reserve grade team. I've seen him play a few times in NSW Cup. Big unit and looks very strong but can't see anything special about him. Maybe Robbo sees something different.

We don’t really need to do much in the player market, we still have one of, if not the most talented teams on paper. Mini and SBW are the obvious omissions. SBW could deliver the freaky moments at times but what we will miss most from those guys is the leadership.

Over the last 2 years Robbo has had a vice captain leadership group so hopefully he knows who the next captain is. IMO he needs to name the captain ASAP and Pearce looks the likely candidate. Unlike Robbo, I don’t know Pearce personally so I trust Robbo to judge whether the captaincy will be good for him or not, if not then probably Cordner.

Valheru, I would not rule out JWH coming under strong consideration for the job as captain. The boys seem to follow his lead already on a number of things and giving him the captaincy may just be the tonic needed to get the ill discipline out of his game and bring out the best in him. I think 2014 was a somewhat disappointing season by Jared on field. He was not bad, but never seemed to get near the form he showed at all in 2013 at any stage. May be the captaincy might give him an extra motivation to lift ala Artie Beetson.

Agree, wouldn't like to see it. Anyway, we're linked to every player on market so I take it with a grain of salt.

Apparently a bloke named Sonny-Bill Williams has left for Rugby and another guy, you may have heard of him called Anthony Minichiello has retired.

I think the loss of Mini and SBW will be too big a hurdle for your club to jump. Both players represent the best attributes that a club builds it's culture on. The likes of Pearce, Fergo, Jennings, Cordner, JWH and alike will not fill the void left by these two greats of the game.

I guess only time will tell but I'm confident that the leadership group are ready to fill the enormous void left by SBW and Minis absence.

Were a couple of lines in one of the weekend papers saying the Roosters are looking to try and fast track Blake Ferguson's registration with the NRL so that he can do the full pre-season work with the rest of the side.

I'd like to see Mitch get the captain's armband as I think he'll thrive on the responsibility. If not, give it to Jake. They both deserve it TBH.

Probably Pearce as captain also unlike Jared and Jake (at times) he is on the field for 80 minutes....Cords, Jared, Jake and Moa vice-captains.

Mini and SBW will be a big loss as the big man has suggested, hoping that the leadership group plus players like Guerra, Jimmy and Jenkos can fill the void in that regard.

Another experienced big forward a la a LoD in 2013 would be nice....but please not Dan Hunt!

Apparently WT are keen to sign FPN/SKD/Guerra/JWH - all off contract at end of 2015.- Apparently Keegan Smith is leaving to join JT at the WT as head of strength and conditioning.
