Time for V'landys to speak with Foxtel and Ch9 about funding a development competition in the summer. Have 8 teams compete against one another over 3 months. Potential expansion teams like the Brisbane Tigers, North Sydney Bears, Ipswich Jets, CQ Capras, West Coast Pirates, Wellington Orcas, PNG Hunters and another Sydney team -- Western Sydney Magpies or Illawarra Steelers for nostalgia -- would be perfect for it.

The best players from the Queensland Cup, NSW Cup, PNGRFL, NTRL, NZRL and Fiji would be able to press their case for an NRL contract. Development players from the NRL clubs could also play in it.

Ch9 need content between October and January. Foxtel needs content to keep RL subscribers during the summer.

I'd go as far as to run the NRLW during this time frame, too.

because it will never really grow in popularity while its played along side the NRL, but if its played in the off season to the NRL, it would give us all something to watch all year round

Ch9 and Foxtel need content in the summer. Playing NRLW and NRL Summer Series between October and January will fill the niche nicely.

NrLW should start about 4 weeks before the NRL starts. Fans are mad keen at that stage. Have the womens final as part of an NRL magic round or something.

I can help with some rule twists.

Play the game in quarters. Five minute breaks between quarter time and three-quarter time. Fifteen minute break for half time. Plenty of time for the broadcasters to run commercials. Players can have a good drink and rest,
