Still dude...I can feel your pain. Having a centre play halfback is embarassing for Canberra.
Even Elliot wasn't that stupid down at the Raiders.
playing 5/8 is a bit different than halfback.
playing 5/8 is a bit different than halfback.
None of those players had ever played in the halves in their life
Adam Mogg has at least spent the last 12 months in ESL playing the position.
Its not an ideal situation dont get me wrong and its absolutely tragic that we've had to resort to this on the back of this club not having a halfback, but im sorry to inform you that Furner's selection of Mogg at halfback isnt even in the same galaxy as Elliott's selections at various points of his Raiders career.
FTR, i wouldnt name Mogg at halfback, ive been on record months ago saying id have started Sam Williams. He's the best halfback at the club right now... some think he's not ready, i think if your good enough, your old enough, and regardless of his level of readiness he's the best halfback at the club and thus, at the Canberra Raiders, he's good enough for FG.
But Adam Mogg is the 2nd best halfback at this club... McCrone is 4th, behind Herbert imo.
Idris?!
Just curious 69er, who was half for Canberra in season 2008???
Todd Carney until he was sacked, and then Marc Herbert
Herbert is a dirty word around Raiders fans, he had some struggles early on last year, McCrone come in won a few games and suddenly Herbert was on the scrap heap, the way he's been handled has shattered his confidence too, he is too timid now because he's afraid if he makes a mistake he'll be dropped, which is fair enough because although he had a solid start against Penrith round 1 and made only a few minor mistakes, he was dropped and hasnt seen FG since.
I dont think Herbert is the long term answer, but there is no doubts in my mind that he's a talented player and a better halfback than McCrone... is he better than Mogg? Probably but his confidence is shot and he's pretty much been told he has no future at the club so there is no point playing him at this point of a season.
