What are the fans in favour of ?

From what I read … it’s getting an unrealistic amount of money (up to $500m over 5 years ) whilst maintaining control of the running of the game

Part of what the NRL is offering is proven expertise in growing revenue, crowds and ratings … but I’m not sure anyone is putting much of a value on that … hence why I’m not confident about a deal getting done in 2 months
For the majority of people there's no real need for comment. Things are progressing and it's just a waiting game to see how those talks pan out.

Read what you want but as I've seen on this forum, it's just uninformed people jumping at shadows.

majority of fans seemingly are looking for
1. better marketing of the game
2. improved tv coverage, especially on fta
3. A proper reserve grade
4. improved jnr pathways
5. a second tier with purpose and sustainability
6. SL clubs to be financially secure and have enough funding to improve off the field areas
7. better leadership and governance
8. their club to be safe

not unreasonable I’d have thought?

as for independent governance, it’s a furphy as you have agreed, doesn’t happen in nrl, and in SL clubs will also want to keep some influence. Most fans, in both countries would like to see totally independent decision making I’d suggest.
