The National Rugby League has now been around since 1998 (The game itself longer) and one thing that hasn't changed which i believe should is the prize given to the the winners of Minor Premiership and Premiership.
One thing i love about other sports like the English Premier League, NBA, NFL Formula 1 is the fact that clubs/franchises have their trophies on display to show their rich history of success at their club house or stadiums.
The NRL do not give the Premiership winners their own NRL trophy, just an engraving of the club on one of the many mini plaques on the trophy and they return the trophy the year after. I think the NRL should be giving out a trophy the club can keep and cherish as you never know when the club may win another Premiership again especially for regions like North Queensland who should have something
think St George, South Sydney and Brisbane who could have many trophies on display at their respective League Clubs.
Maybe i am being pedantic about it but i would like to see a change where Minor Premiership receives a Cup and for Premiers to receive the same trophy but their own.
I'd happily be corrected if thats the case but i know it isn't.
Not making this an AFL vs NRL but see below the Trophies below for Hawthorne as a great example of showcasing your clubs success and history.
