It is rascist. It's not up to you to determine what a rascist term is. "Coloured" is a rascist term and there is history to that. You should have started a thread due to heritage. The Aboriginal side, fine. But basing a side on skin colour is rascist, if you cannot understand why that is so then you're the stupidest person on this forum.

But is branding the anglos/europeans as "white" racist?

If not, why not?

When Artie Beetson was coach of Queensland, whenever they had a game of touch footy, Artie had the teams divided up as Black fellas V the Whiteys. Black fellas always won,

I read the other day that Scott Prince was an aborigine? Is that true or is he just dark skinned?

Apart from the two vanilla face wingers being garbage, I like the look of the white XI. Much stronger defense.

Branding a team 'coloured' is silly.

Who are they meant to represent? the only thing the 'coloured' team has in common is that they are not white!. Are they supposed to play with 'pride of not being white'?

I may have explained it wrong yesterday but that was the point I was trying to make. Well done Chapsta, good to see common sense still exists on this forum.

And how does the same not apply to the 'white team'? Why should people who may have descent from England, Germany, italy, Eastern European countries and France have to feel pride for playing on the white team?

It's not different at all. Black people can be of different descent. So can white people. The question is, why do you only pick up on the creation of a 'coloured side' as racist?

Fact is neither is racist. This thread is just a light-hearted gimmick. Get over it. I dont believe the original poster said that they should feel pride as a team.

Just as im sure the Pacific Island team (Samoa, Tonga, Fiji) didnt feel any passion when they played a few tests together in Union. Doesnt mean the concept was racist tho.

Btw my money would be on the white team. The coloured team have too many mistakes and brain-explosions in them.

But wait, the white team have no natural flair and would be very conservative so wouldnt score enough points. So id actually pick the coloured team.

But wait again...

The line-ups presented in the original post would provide a bloody good game to watch. Although the team of dear and beloved brothers of indigenous and polynesian heritage hold exceptional attacking flair and unpredictability, there seems be more more solid and reliable performers in the crackers line-up.

The problem with identifying people in terms of skin colour is the absence of clear definitions. Just look at how hard it was to categorize the 'half-caste' population in Sth Africa during Apartheid. As for league players, what do we say about someone of mixed ethnicity such as Scotty Prince? How about players of Lebanese origins like El Masri and Robbie Farah? They're not of white european origin nor are they coloured according to our general perception. Should they be eligible for a new brown side? We could also start a yellow side with Dennis Bendall, Craig Wing and the guy who wrote that crappy RL movie.

I can understand your concept but perhaps it could be explained a bit better. Based on the general ethnicities of rugby league players, coloured refers to anybody of Polynesian/Maori/Aboriginal descent, I take it? White is anybody else?
