i watched wests v penrith to day and if wests get any one in the h/mats they are kiding

:? What does that mean get any one in the Harold Mats ?

Do you mean get any one in the NSW under 16 team ? :sarcasm:

Every team who makes the semi's gets at least one player in their somewhere ...If Wests win their semi against Manly (no chance) they may even get two.

Agree with Seijka. He hasn't lived up to the expectations in my opinion. He just hasnt come on as people thought and at the moment I don't think he should be the selection for the NSW 18s at 7.

Watched this Harry Seijka I have heard so much about against Wests last week..... Very Very average game ...don't think his quite worth the $75,000 a season his getting ... talk about winning the lottery.

once again if they get 1 let alone 2 in the nsw side (this is the nsw 16 - 18 forum ) its a joke they are ordinary

After seeing the Harold Matthews Preliminary Finals today i would imagine pretty much half of the Under 16's side will come from Penrith and Parra.

jake maclouf should be half ,he was better than crook by a long way

Watched Crook play a few weeks ago and he has improved dramatically over the course of the season. He has been very instrumental in Illawarra emerging as a title contender before being knocked out last weekend. Jacob Maklouf though will be the NSW 7 if he has a top game this weekend against Harold Matts powerhouse Parramatta. Ashame Luke Brooks is out injured. I thought he has been good for the Tigers.

The Roosters didn't get to the GF just because of Miller/Blair, particularly when it comes to forward play and defense, there might be a few more rwb in the U/18 squad. I also fail to see how McKinnon, a serial third man in and out-the-back-pass-chucker when he occaisionaly hits the line, could be considered for the 18's and captain. How would he lead by example? U/15 form was 3 years ago, lets move on. Also, plenty of 18's who play SG Ball would kill it at 20's but can't play during their yr 12 year for a raft of reasons, just because someone plays 20's, doesn't make them a better player than kids in the top 18's teams.

well said scruffy any bum can go through the toyota cup teams and see an S.G Ball kid playing 20's and say oh theres your NSW fullback or whatever, doesn't make it so, also if you are in a competitive S.G Ball side there is still some prestige left in these junior comps and clubs and players want to win them so they let them play out the season, expect ALOT of the better blokes playing in the Ball Semis and GF to be playing 20's this year.

Unfortunately I think the selectors, who ever they are, take the soft u/20 and Aust Schoolboy option. Last years team had three players in it whose Sg ball team didn't get within a mile of the finals and some top 4 teams got 1 player in the team....????

Think picking Oz schoolboys is good form guide although NSW 18s play before oz team named. In this case take into contention those in NSW schools teams and SG Ball form. Someone from CHS who has to be best in their position out of 20,000 cant be too bad. Last years schoolboys should be walk up starters. No doubt the selectors know who these guys are and look favourably on those who have been at that level before. These selectors are also generally at these schoolboys selection trials so when they choose the final team out of the prelim squad these factors will no doubt play on their mind. The best of the Ball players should make these schoolboy squads otherwise they probably arent "the best".

Not all NSW SG Ball players trial for NSW schoolboys teams, CCC, CHS, CIS, they don't want to give up school holidays in the lead up to their HSC exams. Also, a lot of boys who go to private schools aren't allowed(by their school) to nominate for school boy league teams because of school rugby, GPS, CAS etc. Also, not all u/18 players go to school.

I heard the NSW Under 16's Origin trial is on Tuesday. Anyone know the team lists for the game?
