Even as a Knights fan I don't think you can put Ponga over Teddy, at best they're a tie. Ponga has more individual brilliance and is probably better defensively but Teddy's support play is second to none. Where Ponga will use his footwork and make someone look silly Teddy will break a tackle and make a break or half break will sheer speed, power and determination
Tedesco's always a danger but he can be nullified by a team that watches him carefully, as happened in the second half.

I wouldn't change the starting 13, but the bench might need a rethink. Especially Haas and Crichton.

Not much change needed for game 2, just a few tweaks

Turbo for JMoz
Reynolds for Cleary
Sims for Crichton
Matterson for Wighton
Freddy had no faith in Walkabout, theres no way Wighton goes while he stays. Crichton to Matterson.

Id keep Haas but you can't expect a 19 year old to shoulder the load on his own when Klemmer gets taken off. Crichton literally serves no purpose.

Can we replace the coach? At the end of the game we had Klemmer, Vaughan, Haas, and Cordner warming the bench. Our entire front row and our captain. That's Mary levels of coaching genius.

As for the team, only minor changes needed. Possibly Reynolds or (gulp) Pearce in for Cleary. Jordan McLean in for Crighton so we have a full front row rotation. Freddy has a hard on for Wighton, so we know he'll stay. Suck donkey balls that Keary won't be available. Tom T in for Morris if he's fit. Or possibly Latrell to give him a much-needed kick up the arse.

And for f**k's sake, does every single f**king kick have to be a midfield bomb? Kick for the corners, find the grass, turn them around, instead of giving them a free 20-30m on every damned kick.

Cordner really gets in the way at times. Twice NSW had made break down field and the QLD defence was scattered - what happens? Cordner gets the ball and takes it up for a pointless hitup and gives the QLD team more time to reset their line.

There needs to be another prop in the team. Haas was on there at times as the only genuine prop on the field for us, this was just really bad.

NSW are really missing Maloney, in game 1 last year he was instrumental in our victory. Tom Trbojevic was also missed, although he really shouldn't be rushed back.

Maybe some of the need to focus less on Advance Australia Fair and more on representing their state, their people?
THIS.

PS: Never rated Cleary and hopefully Fitler will have learnt his lesson.

Walker is not SOO level.

Mitchell needs to be dropped, so he can get some hunger back or he is a flash in the pan.

HAAS is not ready yet.

Crichton is not SOO material.

Cooke is a bench/impact player. He cannot control a game.

Apart from that Klemmer and Vaughan were good.

Walker out (not up to it)
Pearce in (@5/8) in form and a leader.
Hass out (good bit Young yet)
Cleary keep (persist. Promising)
Mitchell out ( too temperamental)
Turbo in (one of our best)
Ado car out (has Speed but no size for origin)

Payne Haas was pretty good considering he was the only genuine prop on the field for NSW during large portions of the game - the fact he was able his own is very impressive. I can't believe some of you want to drop him.

It's not Cook's fault that we had undersized forwards getting smashed and dominated in every tackle, to suggest he's a bench player is ridiculous as he's head and shoulders above any other nsw hooker right now

Apparantly Qld spent the day locked away preparing for the game ahead....meanwhile blues spent the day with friends and family....reason? ..wanted to treat it as " just another game" .....the traditional difference in the character of both teams is back and as glaringly obvious as it's ever been.
