Big Tim - I agree, they shouldnt be subject to them at all but i think its more that parents dont realise that games are mature aged content in a mass majority of the cases.
To me its an educational issue more than anything... the generation that is fighting against videogaming has no idea what it actually is...
They still believe that it is a "Toy" and a childs medium and then are continually shocked that violence, sex, drug reference, adult themes etc are turning up in them...
and its not like it is something that has turned up overnight, its something that has been in video gaming since its inception.
The numbers dont lie and when a majority of gamers are between 25-30 years of age the outliers are children who shouldnt be playing games like COD and GTA and the now elderly and mature aged gamer thanks to the emergence of casual gaming.
Why should the key demographic be punished because of the outlier markets? it makes no sense.
I do believe that as the generation moves up things will be different, but i think also a majority of it falls on the parents and i know that when i have children i will not be letting them play Grand Theft Auto and i will be educating them as to why...
Parra Pride - 100% agree - why the hypocrisy in the arguement, film and television itself has been slipping down the moral scale for decades now to horrible degrees - radio also where you can tune in in the morning while driving your kids to work and hear people like Kyle and Jackie O discussing orgasms and other smut... not a word uttered.
