NSW Changes

I hope Bellamy gave the boys a serve that makes Gordon Ramsay look like a Sunday School teacher. The whole team was very sub-par tonight, any set-play appeared to be an afterthought rather than something planned, if there is any more motivation for them to grab the series by the scruff of the neck in Sydney, they have it now. I was seriously wondering if the NSW Residents' team who won might have put in a better effort?

On saying that- Mason and Turner out for starters. I actually don't think the team needs too much changing of players. They just need a change of gameplan and attitude- they took Queensland's flanks for granted and made way too many errors fitting of a game at this level.

gidley is either fullback or nothing because he got hammered everytime and took the wrong options in attack on a few occasions, lewis offers more utility value and is tougher in defence
side needs more props, drop fitzy or mason, never let simpsons near the side again, and tupou and put in kite and bailey, anasta
f**k off bellamys pet in turner and get a decent player in there
put an actual 5/8th (anasta) and not a forward in the 5/8th role __________________

Not that i really care what they do BUT if I were them I'd bring in Anasta at 6, Hayne comes back onto wing for Turner, Bailey comes in for Simpson and Fitzgibbon goes to bench.

If NSW want any chance they need to name the following team:

1. Brett Stewart
2. Joel Monaghan
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Jamie Lyon (as much as I hate the prick... he's played bloody well lately)
5. Anthony Quinn
6. Braith Anasta
7. Todd Carney
8. Luke Bailey
9. Robbie Farah
10. Brent Kite
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Greg Bird

14. Jason Ryles
15. Anthony Laffranchi
16. Willie Mason
17. Luke Lewis

Carney's actually a pretty good call. Trouble is, Wallace has been among our best. Our front row, attack from 5/8, and left edge defence are the problems.

yep, pretty much. but the halfback is always a convenient scapegoat - just ask jarrod mullen.

speaking of mullen, give him another shot - but in his real position at 5/8th. he's killing it at club level at the moment.

In
Hayne, Anasta, Bailey, O'Meley

Out
Turner, Tupou, Hoffman, Fitzgibbon/Simpson

Anasta in, Bird to Lock, Gallen to Second Row, Mason to Bench, Laffranchi to Second Row.

Simpson is more physical, but Fitzy is a tackling machine. Depends on the game plan as to which would be better.

Gidley could be dropped too, although given his recent return from injury, he could put in a much better showing in the decider. NSW don't really need a replacement hooker (just someone who can replace in an emergency), which I think diminishes the case for Farah. I'd still rather Gidley than Hornby. I'd rather Lewis to Hornby.

I think Bellamy needs to cut some of the Storm pets, too. Monaghan should have been picked before Quinn anyway, but Quinn has done enough to retain the spot. The same can't be said for Turner and Hoffman.

I don't think we need to make DRASTIC changes - you can't ride everything on 1 bad game

If you did, we'd have to drop Gasnier - but since he's proven he's got what it takes at that level, he can stay.

1. Stewart
2. Hayne
3. Gasnier
4. Cooper
5. Quinn
14. Bird
7. Wallace
16. Bailey
9. Buderus
10. Cross
11. Laffranchi
12. Hoffman
13. Gallen

6. Lewis
15. Tupou
17. Kite
8. Mason

So basically Kite, Bailey, Lewis are in. Cross and Hayne return (is Cross any chance of being fit?)
Gone are Gidley, Simpson, Turner, White, Fitzgibbon.

Shuffle the starting lineup around so that Mason can come off the bench against some tired forwards and run rampant like he did in the second half. Bird can start at 5/8 and we'll sub on Lewis for the rest of the game after 15-20 minutes.

I'd say Tupou should be sacked, but we all know he's 'the chosen one' and for some reason is 'undroppable'...

Id bring in a decent bench players like Luke Lewis, Chris Heighinton, Feleti Mateo, maybe Anthony Watmough.

More props like O'Meley, Ryles and Cross is fit.

Question on Bailey though did he retire from rep football earlier, Surely if he was 100% they wouldve selected him in Game 2.

Fitzgibbon should be starting at 2nd row. Mason back to the bench or out altogether.

Bird to lock, Anasta to 5/8, Monaghan in the centres, Hayne on the wing or they'll probably pick Lawrence.
