NSW regional cities are generally much smaller than the QLD ones.

Outside of the Newcastle-Sydney-Wollongong corridor you only have Albury over 100k and the rest are at or under 50k

Compare that to QLD where you have the North Coast at 250k (not really a city I know), T'ville and Cairns around 150K, T'ba at 100k, and the likes of Mackay & Rocky not far off 100k.

I guess there's just less corporate support to fund teams in NSW country areas

The NSW Cup is shit and no one wants to be in it, certainly not enough to find the huge amount of cash it would take to do it.

Again beautifully expressed but what do you mean by this comment, Tiger. If no one wanted to be in the NSW Cup why is it that the same clubs keep re-applying every year. I am assuming you live in the country some where. It costs a club $500 000 to fund a team in the NSW Cup.

ARLC should fund $250K per "true" non NRL aligned NSW Cup team

And for regional teams and team like Adelaide and Perth to be funded $500K per year

Where there should be a national reserve Grade - then a true NSW Bundy Cup can be setup

With team like
Wenty, Newtown, North Sydney, Ryde-Eastwood, Wests-Campbelltown, Windsor, Mounties, Cabramatta

and regional teams
Western Plains, New England, Northern Rivers, Riverina, Perth and Adelaide

All other teams can play in the Sydney Cup
