I really hope we can keep TDS.

I do as well but I can't stand these players making demands on us so easily. I mean he should be a back-up option at this point. He is an awesome back-up player though. We are actually developing him well.

Take a bow Luke Laulilii and Tallyn Da Silva. The pair carved up reigning premiers Newtown Jets in the Western Suburbs Magpies’ 32-22 win.

18-year-old Laulilii, who is still eligible for SG Ball, starred at fullback with a try, three try assists, a linebreak, three linebreak assists, six tackle busts and 252 running metres.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old hooker Tallyn Da Silva was equally impressive with a try, a try assist, a linebreak, a linebreak assist, six tackle busts, an intercept, 122 metres and 34 tackles — one miss.

Da Silva was a mainstay in the Tigers’ NRL side for the first 10 rounds but has lost his spot to Brent Naden in recent weeks.

However it’ll be hard for coach Benji Marshall to keep Da Silva out of the 17 after that performance.

Laulilii had a rapid rise last year going from SG Ball to NSW Cup in a matter of weeks before making his NRL debut later in the season.
--------------
Pretty sure Benji gave his reason to why TDS is in cup? But that doesn't seem to worry journo's.

The pair were members of the Magpies’ 2022 Harold Matthews Cup premiership-winning team alongside Galvin.

As expected from 2 very classy kids.LL might be vertically challenged but the kid is a gun who will excel long term in NRL.If we lose TDS it will rival many of the imbecilic decisions head office has been making since the inception of this shithouse club

The problem is it's hard to stop these situations from developing. You can't force them to stay. It happens to every club as well.

Ponga was a North Queensland junior.
Tino was at Melbourne.
I think Katao was at Penrith.

These are awesome players.

Look at Galvin. I can't believe the way he carried on.

Hunt is playing in NSW Cup.

He should be. I hope we don't see him again in first grade until he tears it up in reserves and loses a tonne of weight so he isn't a defensive liability.

Magpies v Dogs

Hunt came out firing with brutal hits up and good post contact metres. He's belted the dogs big fwds a couple of times. He kept running hard and played all bar 7min of the first half. Had a spell in the second half. Where did this sudden fitness come from?
Faataape had a miserable start making errors and let in a try.
Jaxson Rahme is imposing, big and strong.
@Tigerm The player who you've been interested in mate, from Souths, big winger Tu'itupou (formerly Thompson) scored three super tries and several barnstorming runs, great speed and leg drive. He knows how to get to the line with big dives and one handed put downs.
Haden's class set him up twice for great tries in the corner.
He will be a great replacement for Skelton if need be. They are both cut from the same beast.
Tristan Hope's pass for Staines to score in the corner was all class but he kicked a ball out on the full not long after which was a shocker.
Luke Laulilii was solid at the back and good hands.
Fulltime 34-34
Good game.

Did Kit play?
TBH, I didn't notice it yesterday, but he didn't get on, not the first time Benji has done this, and it's not like we are winning :(
