NSW Game 3 Teams

More than happy to see Tafua in the side.
No point playing Dugan on the wing out of position. NSW don't have the privilege of that kind of decision. We need to stop playing people outside of their favoured positions - it just doesn't work, not now at least.

Plus, maybe it was just me, but geez Dugan was soft in def and positional play.

Wouldn't mind Taufua there, I rate the guy. Dugan would be up to it though, he's a natural athlete, he has a similar build to Fergo

Armageddon.

I call bullshit on Daley telling Merritt to jam in on Inglis. He's thicker than I thought if he did.
Inglis v Merritt.. hmmm... I wonder who's gonna win that battle.

Daley just said that to look after his 'brother'

I think merritt was on this forum and read about how Inglis would manhandle him and he went out there to prove us wrong..... He was more interested on a 1 on 1 battle with Inglis. Fxckwit

1. Hayne
2. Dugan
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Morris

6. Maloney
7. Pearce

8. Gallen
9. Farah
10. Fifita
11. Bird
12. Watmough
13. Lewis

14. Tamou
15. Hoffman
16. Woods
17. Sutton

Tamou goes on after 15, pushes gal to lock and lewis goes to the bench and comes back on fresh before half time.

Sutton can be placed anywhere in the backrow at around 50 min mark.

I thought Pearce played ok tonight but if we lose he has to make way for Reynolds. when we needed a repeat set no one delivered. Game 3 will make or break Maloney's and Pearce's origin careers. i can see the 2014 blues pair being 6. Mullen/Sutton 7. A.reynolds.

Like this team assuming (correctly) that we won't change the halves.

If fit, Grant could easily slot in for Woods as well. Deserves a crack after a good series last year.

The thing that disappoints me most about tonight is that Daley may be tempted to make mass changes to the side. Surely we're past that by now?

Merritt played a considerable part in 3 of Qld's tries tonight. As did the Maroons spending the opening 20 minutes camped inside their 20 metre line.

You'd think without doubt Merritt will be gone (thankfully) for the decider, and less 50/50 calls will go in Qld's favour.

Why do I have this sick feeling in my gut that Daley will pick Merritt again?

Can't explain it.....but I do.

Our current halves have no kicking game. This is where QLD own us. Unless we pick a set of halves who can get us field position and repeat sets the rest is irrelevant.

Oh f**k no...

Taking the blame off him for covering Inglis seems to point that he'll put him back in the side to see how well could potentially do if he didn't have that responsibility.

Too bad it will cost us the series.

Completely bias opinion here, but Reynolds and Mullen have excellent kicking games. At club level, they can complete easily with Cronk and Thurston. Origin being Origin could tell a different story.

I'd personally go for Carney + one of either Mullen or Reynolds for the kicking duties.

1. Jarryd Hayne - Always one of the Blues best
2. Brett Morris - Never deserved his guaranteed spot, but persistence paid off eventually and since Game 3 last year he has been deserving
3. Michael Jennings - Best left centre in NSW.
4. Blake Ferguson - Best available right centre in NSW... would prefer him playing in position over Morris on the wrong side of the field
5. Jorge Taufua - Should have been picked in Game 2. We need wingers who have high workrates and can help the forwards out. This guy is built for Origin... pretty much the exact opposite of Merritt
6. Josh Reynolds - Maloney only ever had his spot due to the combination with Pearce, and Pearce should have been dropped long ago. Reynolds is tough and now that he has game time behind him, deserves to start
7. Todd Carney - I know he is more of a 5/8 then halfback, but even out of position I would back him to be more likely to win a game for NSW then Pearce.
8. Tim Grant - Can't believe he was ever dropped after his debut. Should be a guaranteed pick unless injured or his form/workrate drops off completely
9. Robbie Farah - The only position with absolutely no competition at all.
10. Paul Gallen (c) - Best thing about Gallen in the front row is his work rate doesn't hurt the team like it does at lock/second row where the backline movements die with him.
11. Luke Lewis - Need him playing like he did in Game 1 again.
12. Greg Bird - The guy loves his Origin footy. Would just like to see him let his centre and winger get a bit more ball. I think there are more points in us if he shares the ball with them.
13. Anthony Watmough - Another proven Origin second rower. Would have him starting with Bird and Lewis... they are all pretty much interchangeable aswell. But I think Watmough has the best build and style for playing in the middle.

14. Andrew Fifita - Our only forward outside of Gallen to come near making 100 metres. Like Grant I can see him being around for a long time to come if he keeps his workrate up
15. James Tamou - His form has been rough this season. But he was great last year and hopefully his latest f*ck up is the kick in the ass he needs to get him to fire up and focus on his footy. Also think another front rower is very important for the team.
16. Trent Merrin - Would use him in the second row or at lock. I think rotating him with Watmough would keep a similar style being played in the middle.
17. Wade Graham - Would use him as a second rower and rotate him with Bird and/or Lewis. But with Graham on the bench, and Lewis and Bird starting you also have cover right across the field basically. So any injury or players having absolute shockers could be covered reasonably well.

You'd have to go with Reynolds in that case. Mullen isn't a halfback and Reynolds can structure a team extremely well. One of the reasons Souths are doing so well in attack this year.

Why the f**k does anyone want to blood a young HB in a farkin Origin decider?

Go get f**ked!

This bloke has to lead the club I support for the next decade.

Just destroy yet another NSW HB f**k knuckles. If A Reynolds plays out the season and begins next year well, then debut him in Game 1 2014.

Daley has chosen his HB this year.
