01. Jarryd Hayne (Parramatta) - He's dynamic at the back and the reigning Dally M winner. He's one of, if not the most exciting player in the NRL today and I think it's time he got the fullback position.

02. Brett Morris (St. George) - Awesome year in 2009 and partnering up with his brother could be the start of a centre/wing pairing that could go down in Blues history.

03. Josh Morris (Canterbury-Bankstown) - The 2009 Dally M centre of the year and he also represented NSW and Australia last year, too. He has the defence to shut down the likes of Inglis and partnering up with Brett again will be great to see.

04. Timana Tahu (Parramatta) - Many people don't know whether he will be any good after playing Yawnion for the past few years, but I can remember how talented he was when he played League and I don't think it'll take long for him to get his rep status back.

05. Anthony Minichiello (Sydney Roosters) - Another I think people have underestimated due to his heavy injury toll. I think he'll get back to his best in 2010 and given his experience, would do really well on the wing.

06. Trent Barrett (Cronulla) - Had a great 2009, despite where the Sharks finished. He's an awesome player IMO and did really well in Origin last year when he partnered Noddy. He's the experience that we need in the halves along with Kimmorley.

07. Brett Kimmorley (c) (Canterbury-Bankstown) - Experienced and inspiring. He needs to be there if his form is anything like what it was in 2009. He lifted the Blues last year in game 3 big time and deserves captaincy.

08. Luke Bailey (Gold Coast)- One of the most experienced and best props in the NRL. He should be there if injuries treat him kindly. He always puts in 200% and never stops.

09. Michael Ennis (Canterbury-Bankstown) - The perfect hooker for Origin. So so so passionate and gritty. He loves to get under opposition skin and he's got the talent to back it up.

10. Michael Weyman (St. George) - Another who wowed us all in 2009. Never stopped and showed the talent Canberra knew he had all those years ago. If he can have another injury free season he'll be there.

11. Anthony Watmough (Manly) - Best back rower in the comp. Period. He'll be there.

12. Luke O'Donnell (North Queensland) - Still had an impressive 2009 despite not playing a lot of footy. He's another player who thrives on the Origin pressure and would be one of the first players I pick.

13. Alan Tongue (Canberra) - Oh god tell me why this bloke hasn't played Origin yet? Just put him there and watch him go. He's like a wind up toy that never needs re-winding.
- Interchange

14. Justin Poore (Parramatta) -
Can provide some good impact when Weyman tires out. He's good enough to start, but I think he provides more off the bench than Weyman.

15. Luke Douglas (Cronulla) - He should have played Origin in 2009. Awesome player.. Simply awesome. I would love to see him in an Australian jumper, too.

16. Luke Lewis (Penrith) - The utility king of Origin. He was great last year and has adapted to the back rower type of bench player well. I prefer him off the bench than centre, but at least having him here we know if we cop an injury to wing, centre, the halves, hooker, lock or second row then he can come on and cover it.

17. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (Canberra) - Big player with big talent. He did really well last year and should get even better in 2010. He's lots of fun to watch when he's on fire, steam rolling everyone.

Backups (in no order)-
Luke Patten, Kurt Gidley, Ben Creagh, Robbie Farah, Paul Gallen, Matt Cooper, Jason Ryles, Mark Minichiello, Anthony Laffranchi

Lets see...

1. Brett Stewart
2. Jarryd Hayne
3. Michael Jennings
4. Jamie Lyon
5. Joel Monaghan
6. Trent Barrett
7. Brett Kimmorley
8. Luke Bailey
9. Michael Ennis
10. Justin Poore
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Paul Gallen
13. Greg Bird

14. John Sutton
15. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
16. Ben Creagh
17. Michael Weyman

I believe Stewart's all-round game is better than Hayne's at fullback and it'd benefit the NSW's side more to have two quality players in the side as opposed to one.

Lyon/Monas on the right hand side should be good. Lyon had next to no support in his two game stint and often troubled Inglis with the ball in hand, combine that with Monas who can take Inglis in the air and I believe you have yourself a good right hand side.

Halves, well, I went with what worked last time, same can be said about Ennis.

Bailey was the best front-row forward the Blues had last year, alongside Poore and I believe they'll do NSWs proud.

Backrow is just deadly. 3 passionate players who will rip and tear into anything. They will send shivers down any pack in the world.

Bench, well I expect Gidley to be chosen over Sutton, but I'd rather Suts who can play in the centres, five eigth and backrow and actually offer the blues some variation in attack with his ball skills.

Learoyd-Lahrs and Creagh are on the bench for impact while I believe Weyman will be better for the experience.

Selectors shouldn't bother with a 40-man squad, I say they should stick with 25 players, and the remaining 8 should look like...

Kurt Gidley
Brett Morris
Josh Morris
Jarrod Mullen
Mitchell Pearce
Keith Galloway
Robbie Farah
Luke Lewis

Some players that have to be in there

C. Lawrence
J. Sutton
G. Bird
J. Mullen
TLL
Keith galloway

If they pick Barrett, Kimmorley, Tahu and Hindmarsh, they'll lose this year and the 2 series after that.

I don't think J. Mullen nor C. Lawrence 'have' to be there. Both have to step up a bit first. With that said, they certainly have shown some nice signs.

In my world they do Pete ;-), esp Lawrence. Only center in the game who has the size, pace and power to compete with GI defensively.

It's ok, Gaba is still going on about this "Bellamy no game plan" thing, despite having two premierships.

How many series has he won in state of origin ,

When Bellamy has to coach a new team and against his players , his refusal to give nsw game plans is quite obivous.

in 2 state of origin series

No Plans Bellamy 0 win 2 lost

and i got a feeling it will be 0 -3 after this year

Bellamy completely changed the Storms attacking structure 2 weeks before the finals last year pencil-head.

You know the rest.

yes the premiership is more important to no plans Bellamy then the state of origin why he shouldnt be coaching because he isnt going to have game plans, he knows the storm players in the origin are the ones who come up with the storm plans

And after this year losing 3 nil will be the end of his nsw coaching career

1-Jarryd Hayne-Needs to be at fullback, he's a match winner and he has finally seized the number 1 as his own at club level. Stewart might be slightly more consistent, but Hayne is the player you want in Origin IMO

2-Josh Morris-Scores a lot of tries, which sounds banal but he's a winger and that's his job. He also doesn't concede too many and is fast and skillful

3-Michael Jennings-Electric pace and footwork, his defence isn't stunning but he's a genuine attacking centre. A nice change from Matt Cooper (not that I mean that as a shot at Cooper)

4-Timana Tahu-Experience, skills in all areas.

5-Brett Morris-Much the same reasons as for Josh, really

6-Jamie Soward-I have no idea why he missed out last year. Best long kicking game going around, he's also a good playmaker and very elusive with a lot of speed.

7-Brett Kimmorley-Best option this far out, and experienced.

8-Justin Poore-Hard worker who always makes metres, won't be intimidated.

9-Michael Ennis-Better than Farah, as he demonstrated. Maybe not as flashy but he's well suited to Origin

10-Luke Bailey-Experienced, tough, hard working

11-Anthony Watmough-Was in outstanding form last year

12-Ben Creagh-A good wide runner, mobile, good defender

13-Luke O'Donnell-Tough as nails, makes metres and tackles every game.

14-Luke Lewis-The perfect utility, can play anywhere bar front row and do it well. Was great in the first game last year

15-Mick Weyman-I think he can provide impact off the bench in short bursts either side of the half and towards the end, will charge forward without fear.

16-Luke Douglas-Can play front and back row, gives some size to what has been a notoriously small bench but is also a very good player.

17-Tom Learoyd-Lahrs-Again, adds some much needed size, but is a genuine impact forward with a good offload and damaging running.

Obviously that's all totally dependent on form. Gidley could be a shot at the utility spot, as could Farah. Carney might squeeze himself in there somewhere, Hindmarsh will be there if he ends his retirement as is rumoured, and my dark horse is Eric Grothe who could nab a wing spot with some of the form he showed through the final rounds and final series last year...

Josh Morris is NOT a winger. Sure he can play there, he might go O.K there, but he is at least 80% better when he plays centre. The Dragons played him in the centres once in 2008, and he got the man of the match (against Souths I think it was.) The rest of the time he was on the wing. He played the whole year in 2009 at centre and what happened? He played for NSW, Australia and won the Dally M centre of the year award.

I would rather him not in the NSW side than have his talented wasted on the wing.

1. Jarryd Hayne-best fullback for the blues, lets pick him there
2. Brett Morris-try scoring winger, plenty of pace and not prone to the epic f**k up
3. Michael Jennings-Freakish talent, if he can fire at this level, he will win the blues games
4. Chris Lawrence-Blistering pace, strong defender and a cool head, would've gotten a gig in 09 had he not been injured
5. Josh Morris-Much like Brett, he can score a lot of tries. I thought he struggled a bit in origin last year, but performed well for Aus, give him a shot on the wing
6. Jamie Soward-Was the best 5/8 in the NRL last year, he can create chances with his speed, and skill
7. Brett Kimmorley-Played very well in game 3 last year and was a big reason the blues won. Experienced head to help the rookie 5/8
8. Michael Weyman-Strong runner who works hard. Doesn't take a backward step
9. Robbie Farah-Very skillful around the ruck, good kicking game and can catch the markers out better than anyone
10. Keith Galloway-Plenty of vigor in this guy. Won't make as many runs as Weyman, but will make every run a strong one
11. Ben Creagh-Have him hit the fringes, where he is at his strongest, had a great 09.
12. Anthony Watmough-Best on the field in game 3 last year, was also very good in game 2, a certainty to play this game
13. Luke Lewis-Has good utility value, and is a very good all round footballer.

14. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs-Big strong kid, did a good job in 09, and deserves another crack this year if he can carry on his form
15. Luke Douglas-It's time he gets his shot. Has been consistent for the Sharks ever since his debut. Won't take a backward step and will work hard.
16. Luke O'Donnell-Tougher than leather, hard worker with plenty of mongrel in him
17. Justin Poore-Tough competitor, had a solid series last year.

Why push off a player better than Lawrence in Josh Morris to the wing (again, he is NOT a winger..) to give him the spot? Lawrence is good, but Morris shouldn't be pushed into a position he shouldn't be in for a player who hasn't played many games recently.

J. Morris on the wing would be an epic fail. Just kick to him and he'll crumble.

Comparing Morris and Lawrence as centres is splitting hairs. They're virtually the same in style...both fast and powerful hole runners and ok defenders...Lawrence is marginally better in defence and Morris is more likely to run over the top of you and harder to stop close to the line. If you wanted both in the team ideally Lawrence would play centre but swap with Morris on the last tackle to field kicks.

Please, saying Josh Morris cant play wing is an insult to him. If he was the Matt Cooper or Jamie Lyon style of center then I would agree that he probably wouldnt adjust to life on the wing. But he can most certainly play on the wing and do it well. Just like Inglis can play center, wing and fullback, so can Josh Morris.

Lawrence and J Morris should be our centre pairing in years to come

Those picking J Moz at winger really dont know him too well

He is a shocking winger defensively and has hands like feet, he is not comfortable in the position and the Moz's are known to crumble when they are down on confidence, they are two kids you would just never play out of position in a big match.

Left side centre/wing combo or nothing at all

I would even go as far to say if you pick Brett on the wing. you would have to have either Cooper or his brother inside him so he plays well with confidence.

After thinking more about more last night I have come up with this:

1. Stewart (linking up and backline play so much smoother than Haynes)

2. Hayne (wont be as easy to tear up QLD from fullback like he did other teams at the end of last season, Stewart much better at FB. Purely for backline play)

3. Lawrenece/Cooper (really cant split them at the moment. Either one marking GI on the right side, honestly in an origin, what will Jennings do in attack that either of these two cant. Defence wins!)

4. J Morris (Left side Combo with his brother speaks for itself, leave them there for 7-8 years, cannot play wing if his life depended on it!!!)

5. B Morris ( see above)

6. Carney (If disciplined i think will unlock true potential, strong, agressive runner of the ball and can kick it a mile. The future!!)

7. Kimmorley (The only good solid half back that can lead a team aaround at the moment i dont think anyone from the next crop can stand up yet)

The pack is a bit more of a mixed bunch, i for one though i thought Poore and Weyman really stood up and used controlled agression well if anything i think they could dominate the QLD pack. Creagh will score tries on the edges other back rowers cant and watmough needs to be there. I would give Farah a go slightly ahead of Ennis just for creativity and talent, plus people so underestimate Farah's toughness!

so i would go something like this:

8. Weyman
9. Farah
10. Poore
11. Watmough (Right side, however roaming a bit)
12. Creagh ( Left Edge)
13. O'Donnell ( Works hard tough as nails, needs to be disciplined. Right edge and roaming)

14. Lewis (best utility in the game)
15. Ryles (If Disciplined will be one the the laeding NRL Props
16. Douglas (wont let anyone down, look to the future)
17. Learoyd Lahrs (big, strong, great offload)

Yes a very big bench to dominate to Qlders!!!
