This is the NSW team I would have penciled in for game one if I was selector

1 Tedesco
2 Fergo
3 Mitichell
4 Tom Turbo/Leilua
5 Addo Carr
6 Keary
7 Cleary
13 Pangai Jn
12 Sims
11 Crichton
10 Klemmer
9 Cook
8 Fonua Blake

14 Gutherson
15 Vaughan
16 Frizell
17 Haas/Jake Turbo

I think Fonua Blake is ready for origin this year.

Crichton and Sims could both play 80 minutes

Haas and Vaughan would be the replacement props, with Frizell replacing Pangai mid game.

If Tom Turbo isn't fit, then Joey Leilua would play centre. I think he would go well in origin.

I think Tariq is better suited to origin than Cordner. I also think he is a better player. He was the form second rower in the comp last year.

Captain is a hard choice. I would actually pick Tariq as captain too, as I see him as an inspirational leader and he would be on the field for 80 minutes.

I have picked a big, tough, mobile and skillful forward pack.

Gutho would be the utility back, who has played 1 to 6 in first grade. He is also playing well this year.

I like the look of that team to the max.

I know that Jake Turbo will be picked at lock. He is a quality player, but I would be looking for more power and punch from Pangai and Frizell at lock.

I also know that Cordner will be picked and captain, but I wouldn't pick him.

Haas has played 2 games this year, and 5 games total. Way, way off Origin. To even consider him in the same breath as Turbo is madness.

Pangai Jnr has had 1 good game against a weak Cowboys side who lost Taumololo early. Jake Turbo and Frizell are far, far superior locks. If anyway, Teveta MIGHT be worth considering as an impact forward but Friz is far better in that role too.

AFB is a kiwi.

Backline is good. Keary must be there IMO. My initial thought of Gutho was to scoff, but it’s not the worst option - one can afford a utility in origin moreso than clubland.

I reckon you’re pretty close with the backline but you’re out a bit with the forwards.
I can’t see Pangai, Blake, Crichton & Haas making it.
8 Vaughan
9 Cook
10 Klemmer
11 Cordner c
12 Friz
13 Jake T
Bench probables Sims, Maclean, Finucane, Murray, Is Radley nsw?, I’m not sold on any back utilities yet. Gutherson possibly but I’m no fan.

With all due respect, this is a ridiculous team. I believe #8 is a Kiwi but if not, he is way down the pecking order. Vaughan is comfortably the form front rower of the competition.

"Gutho" is the most overrated player since Gareth Widdop. #7 and #13 have been piss poor this season. #7 is the next most overrated behind "Gutho" and #13 is gassed after 10min. No way #11 will or should be in front of Friz! I agree about Cordner. The next most overrated player after Cleary but he will be picked.

So Jake Trobojvic or our persecuted hero Jack de Belin at #13 and the other on the bench. Sims on the bench. Fonua Blake at home beating his better half with Vaughan starting and McClean or Ryan James on the bench.

#7 is a conundrum. Keary will stink it up when the Rorters meet out forwards but he will still be picked so they will need a #7 who can tackle. Otherwise I would go with Luke Brooks.

I Don't think Addo Carr has earnt a spot this year so far?
Angus Crichton has been rubbish
Cameron Murray is way better
and Jake Turbo is a walk up start
and im glad FF you are not a selector

Jack Wighton could make a good allrounder sub big strong hard hitter
but Tyrone Peachey is still no 1 for that role i think

You should have selected Burgess for lock and Ravalawa on right wing.

Tariq Sims is carrying a rib injury.

Those injuries require a lot of time to heal.

Mary won't rest Tariq.

Hence I can't see Tariq playing SOO.

Friz is a certainty if he avoids injury.

Frank..as if Cordner wont be playing and be captain so pie in the sky stuff.
Speaking of pie in the sky. I do not want 1 Dragons player selected for either squad. Just like the Raiders and Warriors..Zilcho disruptions.
That is because we might be able to beat Melbourne then come origin time when we play them before one of the games when all players have to sit out..then again.
Now some stupid QLD journos are mentioning Hunt & Norman in the same team...fed dinkum ...the media commentators and journos have the shortest memory and foresight of mankind.
We have so many 1 game superstars that we could have 12 team International & Origin representative squads.

I just had a look at the minutes Hass has played in is first 2 game. He played 63 minutes in his first game and then played 80 minutes last week. That if phenomenal. I know it may be a bit early for some, but I see a champion already. Jake Turbo is a very good player, but Haas will be better.

I thought AFB was eligible for NSW, but he isn't. I would then move Pangai to starting prop and Frizell to starting lock.

I would start with Pangai instead of Vaughan, because I wouldn't want to have 2 young rookies coming on to take care of the middle. Which would leave Jake Turbo, Vaughan and Haas on my bench. I think Pangai is made for origin. He is a must in my opinion. If he does get picked, it will probably be on the bench.

I don't think JDB will be picked if he is allowed to play.

I pick my team, not the team I think Fitter and co will pick. I had Sims and Frizell as my 2 second rowers last year and left Cordner out altogether.
