The blues team is hard to pick this year, especially the forwards. There’s a stack of players in good enough form.
Something like;
1. Tedesco
2. Addo-Carr
3. Mitchell
4. Scott -not the attacking heights of Roberts or Leilua, but much better defender, and more complete player.
5. Turbo/Ferg/Cotric/ even Graham
6. Keary
7. Cleary/Walker. Cleary most likely but Walker is in killer form
8. Klemmer
9. Cook
10. Vaughan
11. Frizz
12. Cordner
13. Finucane/Jurbo whoever doesn’t start on the bench. Both too good to leave out.

Bench is where there’s a lot of options, depends on form and what sort of team balance and game plan you want.
14. Jurbo/ Finucane
15 & 16 Choose two of McLean, Sims, Crichton, Kikau, TPJ, Murray, and if you put off field stuff aside Fifita.
17. Depending on other choices and what sort of utility you want, Radley, Gutherson, Matterson, Walker

Hate to say it but at this stage of the season Sims doesn’t deserve to keep his spot... For me not engaged enough in the game and playing with the same ferocity... hopefully he changes all that this weekend!

People on here probably won't like what I have to say about SOO in 2019. I really hope none of the Saints players are selected although I am sure at least Frizell and Vaughan will get a jumper if not injured.

Over the last few years our players have peaked for SOO instead of peaking for finals football. It must have to do with our preparation for the season and the fatigue resulting from our game plan each week. Never-the-less, the least exposure our players have, the better chance they will remain fit to play well in the second half of the season.

I have always had the view that the premiership shoud be two rounds shorter and start a week early to allow a stand alone SOO after seasons end.

I’ve always wondered what NSW selectors have against a normal 4 prop rotation. Perhaps you can provide insight?!

I reckon you’re pretty close with the backline but you’re out a bit with the forwards.
I can’t see Pangai, Blake, Crichton & Haas making it.
8 Vaughan
9 Cook
10 Klemmer
11 Cordner c
12 Friz
13 Jake T
Bench probables Sims, Maclean, Finucane, Murray, Is Radley nsw?, I’m not sold on any back utilities yet. Gutherson possibly but I’m no fan.

Yes radley is NSw
I like your bench and team

Not sure to be honest. I suspect the speed of the game is part of the reason. I also think there’s a fair drop in standard/form once you get past the few best. If you discount Fifita, which it seems they have, Vaughan and Klemmer are head and shoulders above the other origin eligible props right now,and you’d be looking to get 50ish minutes out of them. McLean should be there as I think there should be a third specialist prop at least, but guys like Kikau, Sims, TPJ could all do 25-30 minutes in the middle and cover an edge. And they all are playing better and offer more in attack than guys like RCG or Prior. Which other props would you think worth considering?Maybe someone like Twal if he’s eligible?
Plus whether we agree or not, locks are basically looked at as props that can play longer minutes and make more tackles nowadays, and Jurbo and finucane fit that mould.
Hmm this became digressive. But I think it’s the speed, wanting the best players and having adaptability.

I have updated my NSW team to

1 Teddy
2 Fergo
3 Mitchell
4 T Turbo/J Morris/D Walker
5 Addo Carr
6 Keary
7 Cleary
13 Frizell
12 Crichton
11 Sims
10 Haas
9 Cook
8 Klemmer

14 Gutherson
15 Jake Turbo
16 Pangai
17 Vaughan

18 Mclean

I have promoted Haas and Frizell to the start. Pangai has moved back to the bench.

I honestly think that Haas will be one of the best forwards on the ground in origin and could be the best NSW prop. He can play big minutes and is very mobile. I am thinking back to when Brad Clyde made his origin debut in 89. He was only 19, I thought he may have been too young for origin, but he ended up being one of, if not the best forward in the series. I think Haas can emulate that. I will say that Brad Clyde in his early years, before he had so many injuries, is one of the best players I have ever seen lace a boot, I still rate him the best lock I have seen. Haas and Keary would be the only 2 origin rookies starting with Pangai the only other rookie in the squad. I like the look of that team.

PS. I edited this post. I had Jake Turbo starting with Frizell on the bench, but decided to start with Frizell, because I think he is better suited to the intense beginning the game, while Jake T may be able to utilise his skills as the game opens up a bit after the first 25 minutes. With Haas starting and Pangai on the bench, I won't have 2 rookie middle forwards coming off the bench, on the field at the same time.

I know that Walker is the form 5/8 in the comp, but I see Keary and Cleary as my long term halves. I am not a fan of Reynolds and wouldn't even consider him.

Is that Ruan in the second row?
