The practicality doesn't matter. NFL has had to pay millions in damages for head injuries. The nrl doesn't have the money to survive the same. The changes are necessary regardless of fans opinions of game time.

It is several things. What is a hooker going to help if a back is taken out with a HIA? 2nd point is how many times has the 18 man been used?

So very likely. The 18th men miss this club game to sit on the bench for SOO they don't even get match payment for it. Makes no sense

Eight of the 16 teams have the bye this week. If the 18th man cannot play for his club, why wouldn't they source the 18th man from a club that wasn't playing? For that reason I think it'll be Campbell Graham.

That would make more sense given the very unlikely instance that an 18th man is needed

He picked the right ones, good reward for them. Would have had Finucane in there, wouldn't have had Mitchell there after his no show against us (and his last SOO game), hope he decides to turn up.

It is a terrific achievement by our club to have so many representatives and they are all well deserved.

I don’t normally care to much for origin, great games yes and love watching them, but this year will be extra special given how many of our players are involved so I will be very keen to see them play well and hope the Blues win the series.

Real lack of quality edge backrowers tbh. Matterson must of ran over Fittlers cat.
Matterson IS a cat, he is lucky to survive an NRL match let alone getting an origin selection, have you seen him run the ball, he closes his eyes for impact 5 meters away from defenders.
most players look to run through defence lines, not target them for impact

He is certainly not how you describe him. I wouldn’t have picked Matterson but I wouldn’t have picked Sims either.

I like the look of the Maroons forward pack, I think they have the edge up front. Forwards win matches pure and simple.

I love the fact we have so many Panthers in the Blues squad but I can’t help feeling the Maroons are going to be very hard to beat. They always are that is a given but I just don’t like the overall look of the Blues squad. The forward pack just seems light on and not balanced. I so hope I’m wrong and our players lead the Blues to a comprehensive victory but I am apprehensive of the outcome.

If the ref goes all classic Origin and puts the whistle away they'll be in big trouble

Who the Blues, or the Maroons?

Yes.

They've gone for long minute workhorses. Will be interesting if it works.

Who didn't make it that you put in? It looks very close to the top 17 available to me

No idea, I just can’t help feeling we are light on up front.

You have to think the two home games in the first two are a huge leg up.

Sure it’s not an excuse, but the Blues record in Queensland is not great to say the least.

I think the Blues have to win game 1 to have any chance of winning the series.

That is the way the game is going though. Like I said I can't see many props left out. Paulo and Haas on the bench add size and ball play and can play big minutes
