send them over to NZ to play in the NZ 1st XV comp.
its 10 times better than anything in australia.
infact i would say our best 1st XV side would probably beat aussies best 1st XIII side at either sport.

Why did the NZ schoolboys only win in the last few minutes last year then against the Australian schoolboys?

Classic work from the Yawnion governing body, lets hope Edmunds make the switch to league

St Edmunds will now be playing other Catholics scools in Sydney(Joeys) and Queensland (Marist Asgrove, Nudgee and St Greg Terrace ) .
Its a move by the QRU for a national school comp .

As Joeys is a Sydney GPS school, then assume they got the OK from the GPS association.
The travel costs and distance/time factor will be an interesting test for students in year12.

Taipan . This are private schools and you think they can't efford to travel ?
Churchie(Aglican Grammar) and Asgrove Marist tour the Pacific Islands .
Nudgee are playing both schools plus Padua and other catholic schools on wednesdays .
The GPS are playing on a saturday . Nudgee have been trying to bring Marist Asgrove into the GPS .
So it can even the numbers of Goverment , Anglican and Catholic schools to three each .

Nudgee have been trying to bring Marist Asgrove into the GPS .

I think this should read "Nudgee have been trying to keep Marist Ashgrove out of the GPS." Marist have been trying to get into the GPS but Terrace and Nudgee don't want them to.

Asgrove Marist tour the Pacific Islands .

Only because of the fundraising of the parents.

Also, who are the three state schools in the GPS?

The various grammar schools were established by statute and ultimately governed by the "Grammar Schools Act", but I hardly think this makes them 'government schools'.

Terrace - Catholic
Nudgee - Catholic

Churchie - Anglican
Toowoomba Grammar - Anglican
Brisbane Grammar - Anglican
Ipswich Grammar - Anglican
The Southport School - Anglican?
Brisbane Boys College - Anglican

Brisbane State High - State school

Is this correct?

Toowoomba, Brisbane and Ipswich Grammar are non-demoninational.

I believe that BBC is Presbyterian/Methodist

3 non denominational (Grammars)

3 Anglican/Uniting (non Catholic)

+ State High (state school)

Mate I attended a union playing private school so dont tell me what happens, its the time off factor during the school term especially year 12. Of course teams travel overseas schoolboys union and league teams, what takes precendence learning or spending more time "on the road".You are talking Qld schools ,then bringing in schools from interstate big difference.

They usually only travel overseas in the school holidays.

Marist Asgrove have been trying to enter GPS . But because of the other catholic school (Nudgee St Joseph) domination in sports (rugby, athlectic etc). Other schools said no .
