I wouldn't mind seeing J.Reynolds and T.Hodkinson in the halves. But you can't see it happening over Maloney (goal kicker) and Pearce. I think the major focus will be the forward pack. No Fifita, Bird, and Cordner. That's a big blow for NSW but then again it might give other back-rowers an opportunity to shine; Watmough, Lewis, etc.

If NSW is able to win game 1 at Suncorp, would you consider in changing a winning team if the injured/suspended players are fit to play in game 2? Tough decision to make but surely NSW would not disrupt the rhythm. Oh well, first will see how it unfolds.

My team for what its worth...

Hayne
Hoppa
Jennings
Morris
Morris
J.Reynolds
Hodkinson
Tamou
Farah
Gallen
Watmough
Hoffman
Merrin

Grant
T.Sims
T-Rex
Idris

Only 2 rookies in the whole squad. Best backline on form who have all performed at this level. Halves pairing who know and compliment each others' game. A backrow of 80 minute players. A bench of starch and strike power.

Knowng Daley, we will see Dugan at fullback, Hayne in the centres, plodders who are proven shite at origin like Woods and Mannah in the side, and some absolute left wing idiocy like Beau Scott or something

I like what Idris could bring to this team - when he's actually fit. He aint.

I think Woods is one we should persist with. Surely he's a better plodder than those who have come before him. Let's hope has improved on last year and can go with them.

Hodkinson's kicking and defence were average today. He'll get eaten alive if NSW pick him.

I had no problem with his defence. He didn't make every tackle but every time he missed he at least stopped them enough for someone else to complete the tackle, he wasn't trying to grab the arm or the jersey.

With Corder out, I'm thinking they'll go something like:

Hayne
Tupou
Jennings
J. Morris
B. Morris
Maloney
Pearce
Gallen
Farrah
Tamou
Graham
Scott
Merrin

Sims
Woods
Reynolds
Watmough

Scott is apparently lunacy and yet you have a proven Origin dud in Hoffman there...

Beau Scott has been picked for his defence countless times, and every time he has rewarded that selection by acting as a pitiful speed bump for Inglis.

Hoffman hasn't done a lot I agree, but he also hasn't completely failed at the task given to him. He'd be the first bloke dropped if Bird or Glen Stewart were available

Scott should never have been charged with stopping Inglis from centre, that was a stupid experiment that backfired. When he has been played in the second row where he belongs he has been pretty good for NSW.

I wouldn't have Hoffman or G. Stewart, both very good club players but not up to it in Origin IMO.

Unfortunately you can say that about most back rowers eligible for NSW at present.

There are probably some debutants we could give a go to but is prefer to keep the amount of rookies to a minimum in game 1

Idris has been regularly racking up 150m and getting through quite a bit of defensive work. He doesn't really get much fitter. Only thing holding him back is having to do that work. Its impacting his effectiveness running wide at speed and creating problems for smaller backs. That's a club issue though with Penrith props not getting enough go forward.

I'd go
Hayne, Morris, Jennings, Morris, Hoppa, Reynolds, Mullen, Woods, Farah, Gallen, Graham, Sims, Merrin, Watmough, Lewis, Tamou, Williams
