The NSWRL will again conduct the NSW Cup and Bundaberg Red Cup competitions in 2010 and reports indicate that a number of changes will occur with new feeder arrangements announced, the return of clubs reported, and also the demise of several teams.
Its also been reported that the NSWRL will conduct a competition during the season involving NSW Cup and regional representative teams.

I envisage the teams involved in each competition being the following:

NSW Cup
Bankstown Bulls (Canterbury Bulldogs)
Balmain Tigers (Wests Tigers)
Wentworthville Magpies (Parramatta Eels)
North Sydney Bears (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Wests Magpies (Wests Tigers)
Melbourne Storm (Melbourne Storm)
Cabramatta Two Blues (Cronulla Sharks)
Newtown Jets (Sydney Roosters)
Windsor Wolves (Penrith)
Shellharbour Dragons (St George-Illawarra)
Auckland Vulcans (New Zealand Warriors)
Central Coast ??? (Melbourne have withdrawn their support though the CCDRL have stated they are looking for another partner. Rumours suggest Newcastle may be interested.)

Bundaberg Red Cup

Wentworthville Magpies
Bankstown Bulls
Cabramatta Two Blues (May not field a team in both comps)
Mounties
Windsor Wolves
Penrith Brothers
Southern Districts Rebels
Cambelltown Eagles
Chester Hill Rhinos
The Entrance Tigers (Rumoured to return.)

I spoke to someone involved in the Bundy Red Cup today and he said:
- Cabramatta will only be in NSW Cup this year, not BRC.
- The Entrance will be returning to BRC
- A team from Bathurst will probably be included in the BRC; And
- St Marys may be returning to the BRC.

Good news if it's true.

God if St Marys and Brothers are both in the BRC that'd be immense. A cracking local derby with passion and feeling. And a pack of cheating merkins in green :D

The only club from Bathurst with the $$$ to play in the Metro Cup would be Bathurst Penguins/Panthers. St Pat's is a big club, but I doubt they have the financial clout to provide a side all season.

I doubt St Marys will be in it , they seem happy running around the local comp paying players plenty for a sub standard comp.Players and coaches want in but not officials.

Highly unlikely that the Knights will field a team in the NSW Cup given the success of their player placement program in the RealNRL.

Cabramatta will enter a team in 2010 as they have appointed assistant coach Corey Ruttle to coach in 2010 at their presentation two weeks ago.

The Bankstown Bulls will not be involved next year. The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs will "resume normal transmission" at EVERY grade.

I think this is a backwards step by the Bulldogs and for the NSWRL Cup. For the competition to prosper we need some form of consistancy so teams can develop their brand within the local community and so fans can actually identify.

Well if Cabra are in and St Marys out. I better give my source a slap around the chops next time I see him.

No, they were always the Bulldogs' club, it's just a name and colour change.

I doubt there'll be any change from "Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs" in the near future. It will create a far more powerful brand than Bankstown.

No, they are a seperate club from Canterbury, however most of the players and coach may have been supplied by the Bulldogs. I hope they Bulls still play in the BRC.

Its a joint venture isn't it? Much like the Shellharbour Dragons?

The moniker is separate but the club is administered by the Bulldogs. Note the Bulldog logo on the arms:

The Bulls are a separate club that has existed for 10 years. Canterbury came to some arrangement to wear the Bulls jersey and play at their ground. I dont know if the Bulls put any money into this team but if not it would have been a pointless exercise for the Bulldogs as they supplied all the players.
