Astle has not had a good run for a while now. I cant remember the last big score he had. Or is that we just havent had a decent test series in a while.

he did moderately ok in RSA - more a reflection of our lack of test cricket I think

man its lucky we are on a home pitch otherwise I would be worried.

I'm worried - but in reality pretty much our two best bats are at the wicket now

15/0 in the last 10 overs and they are wondering why we struggle to pull crowds to tests in NZ.

Only 1100 showed up yesterday, where are teh Cantab crickit fans!!

Flem always goes to sleep in the 30-40's. Surprised by Vettori he usualy doesnt like being tied down, the bowlling must be spot on.

moaning that there are too many CD players in the side and not enough Cantabs!

It's test cricket, and it's tight, I have no problem with the slow rate - as long as Flem converts it to a biggish score

how good is Bond...freaking amazing..if only he didnt get injured every 2-3 mths, he would already be a legend...

i hope that Sanga can work some magic...and bat with the tail the way Hussey/Steve Waugh have done in the past...

150-200 might be tough on this wicket..

And Vettori...absolutely amazing..always knew he had it in him as a batsman. Good technique and a +ve mindset.

I don't think, apart from the first morning, that there's really been too much in the wicket - it's not quick, but it doesn't seem to be doing much

Abysmal batting by both lineups, and very high quality bowling by both lineups... Bond is a freak, the other NZ quicks have been very goog. Murali and Vaas were excellent too
