Marshall wont be back, but he will be halfback for the NZ team when fit.

The kids got talent but thats going a bit far at this stage

he's not even a halfback for the tigers he's a 5/8th (and even then he's only played very few starting games)

He's actually a halfback the only reason he's playing 5/8 at Wests because theres already somebody more experienced wearing the 7 jersey for Wests! The kid is a killer touch player

he may have played some halfback but he's a natural 5/8th - not a halfback

for that matter so is scott prince - wests don't really have anyone that really suits the halfback role and imo that is our biggest problem (although our lack of decent props is also an issue)

When the hell did Motu Tony come into the equation?

Isn't he playing for Toowoomba?

Nah he played with Castleford. Brisbane wanted him originally for their Fullback and would alternate him with Lockyer in attack and defence, but the Hunt turned out to be a lot better player than the Broncos expected so they released him.

I agree even though I would select him in my team he does suck!not only is he a crap player but the reason he left the warriors or was given the boot was because the players couldnt trust him. Monty Betham said at the time there was someone in the team(motu tony) that wasnt prepared to fight in the trenches with everyone else. But in saying that who else has NZ got who can play in the halves? Someone who cant even keep a regular spot in the 2nd lowest team in the NRL(Leulaui) or some guy who cant even make the cut for the 2nd lowest team in NRL(perenara) Please Johnathan Please play for us NZ NEEDS YOU!INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE NEEDS YOU!We cant have Great Britain as the 2nd best team in the world! They play Super League for crying out loud!

Hopefully Thurston goes with NZ, if not I wouldn't be surprised to see Reni Maitua at 5/8. Not an ideal selection, but he'll get the job done a lot better than most of their previous 5/8s.

Yeah I would have Maitua over Leulaui, Tony & Perenara any day but from the reports Ive heard he has been approached by NZRL already about making himself available for Kiwis but he has turned them down saying he wants to play State of Origin.

I wouldn't put Paul in at hooker if it means ahving to have leuluai at Halfback. Loius Anderson will do for hooker, he has proven to be a good player, probably more of a second rower type, but can still play hooker imo.

Leuluai should only be used in the Nth Harbour game if needed....

My rough guess:

1. Brent Webb
2. Matt Utai (Lesley Vainokolo for UK games)
3. Nigel Vagana
4. Clinton Toopi/Paul Whatuira (Shontayne Hape for UK games)
5. Francis Meli

6. Motu Tony with 7. Jonathon Thurston/Thomas Leuluai (for first game)?
then
6. Jerome Ropati/Marcus Perenara with 7. Robbie Paul (for UK games)?

8. Paul Rauhihi
9. Louis Anderson
10. Jason Cayless
11. Ruben Wiki
12. Tony Puletua
13. David Kidwell/Sonny Bill Williams

14. Joe Galuvao
15. Nathan Cayless
16. Sonny Bill Williams/David Kidwell (Willie Talau for UK games)?
17. Roy Asotasi/Alex Chan/Iafeta Palae'aesena (Ali Lauiti'iti/David Solomona for UK games)?

maitua has said he wouldn't have the pride to put on the kiwi jersey as the only link with new zealand is that his dad lived in new zealand for twenty years

if that's the case he can then play for NZ - They would crazy not to pick him
