From today's SMH... Is Cris Rattue taking the piss? If he is he's a legend...

WILLIE OR WON'T HE? New Zealand rugby union fans are salivating at the prospect of Willie Mason running off Carlos Spencer in the All Blacks back line. Arriving in Wellington on Wednesday, Mason told reporters his agent had been contacted by the NZRU and revealed that he had played centre or second five-eighth as a rugby junior. The New Zealand Herald's Chris Rattue said Mason was "a rugby legend in the making and the kids will just love him . . . He not only has size, but also speed, which he used to great effect when running away from paying a $42 cab fare . . . a couple of years ago".

The guy is a joke. I get tired of seeing him being interviewed everytime there is a story about the Bulldogs. Who gives a toss what he has to say let alone see him running around playing union.

He pretty much makes me feel sick to watch him. I wouldn't change any of the allblacks for him.

My god if he gets picked for the all-blacks there is seriously somthing stupid going on.

Why would a side with the best back-row and the best centres in the world need someone like him?

To quote TJ

"And its absolutely ridiculous to say that he will become an All Black. Lets see him jump for some lineout ball, contest in a ruck and do somthing in a scrum other than lean"

he has already said that he doesnt want to represent NZ in sport

I think he used the phrase "I can't even remember the place"

when talking about him being born there then moving to australia

if he does represent the all blacks

it will be because the wannabees didn't want him

probably because the wallabies didn't want him or because he thought he could get better money in NZ

he has already said "I can hardly remember the place"

when choosing between the roos and the kiwis

You obviously didnt watch the TV1 item as he made no mention of wanting to play for Aus only the AB's.

You also dont seem to know much about the current finacial standings of RU as the Aus RU made something like 50 million from the RWC. So he wouldnt be coming to NZ for the money.

He would never make a centre. He is too big. There is no way he could hack being in the backline. As a forward, no way. Hes too small to be a prop, haven't ever seen him in a lineout and he seems too stupid to be able to understand the laws of a ruck.

but he has already said he doesn't want to represent NZ because he 'hardly remembers the place'

if he does end up playing for the all blacks it will be because of some other reason than him simply wanting to play for them

And what other reasons would there be dipstick? Before he gets an All Black contract he would be on 80K for a super 12 player. add another 50K Maybe from what ever provience he represented and he would still be on well less than he is now.

While I wouldn't normally use Soft Cock Willie and Brad Thorn in the same sentence, Thorn gave up the NRL ONLY because of hie desire to play for the All Blacks. Despite my belief that SCW won't play in NZ, because he would be shown as the fraud he is, it just may be that the Lure of the Black Jersey is what will motivate him to switch.

And just for the record, despite what the media have been saying, the NZRFU did not approach SCW's manager about switching, they politely informed him that should he decide to play in NZ they would welcome him. But first he would have sign with a provience in the NPC and try and win a Super 12 Contract. Should he play well in the Super 12 then he MIGHT win selection to the All Blacks activating that part of the contract.

Given he doesn't know the difference between an Open side and Blind side Flanker, his chances wouldn't have been that good anyway.

Poor old Willie has trouble with the aerobic requirements of league. As a backrower in Rugby he would be lucky to last the RUNNING ON TO THE PITCH STAGE. The only people salivating his return to NZ would be *edit* - Dont do it again* OK that was a cheap shot but he was the player demanding the public apology from the media because the 'doggies' were not charged due to insufficent evidence....a hell of a difference to having no case to answer.
Whatever, 'ol Willie is not good Rugby material.
