His pace was ok today. Got a few in the high 130s and early 140s. Didn't get swing today though. He needs that combination. Anderson and Elliott strangely swung it more than Henry and Boult.

Think it was a good day in that some of the lesser players and role players stood up when it mattered. Andersons bowling a far better line these days too which had previously been a significant concern. The lower order was awesome under pressure. That six from Matt Henry was enormous.

I'm guessing maybe Ben Wheeler comes in for McClenaghan. Not sure what other options are really there tbh.

I don't think Boult needs to bowl fast in NZ conditions to be effective. I've seen him destroy teams both at 140+ and 130-135. It is the shape on the ball that is killer for him, but I agree with you on Australian roads he would be better with more pace.

I know you disagree, but I agree with Corey's comments after the T20's that his economy is improving because he is not bowling so many back end and death overs at the moment. His line and length seems the same to me, but I agree that there are less shorter balls as not bowling the death. It appears so far that KW will bowl him out earlier than Baz did, and expect Boult, Henry & Co to close out with Milne. Southee I am sure will resume death bowling upon return. KW and Hesson may go back to Baz's attack plan when Boult comes good again and Henry finds some shape.

Henry often doesn't swing it. Didn't swing it at all in England. I understand he can get shape on his day, though. But he is no Boult or Southee.

Ben Wheeler is a definite option, but I'd favour Doug Bracewell returning. Not the best news for Central Districts either way.

Elliot bowled beautifully. So often opposition teams find him enigmatic, whether batting or bowling.

Well that was all a bit premature.

It proved my point.
There was not a Kiwi here when that was the score but once they got themselves back in it they started to magically re-appear. Fair weather fans.

All that proves is how few NZ cricket fans there are on here.

Meth and I were talking on here when NZ was getting hammered in the first T20.

And JJ is yet to post at all.

Come to think of it, I've never seen JJ and Mitch McClenahan in a room together, I think this proves he is Mitch McLeakin.

Not really. It is a work day for a start, I was on leave today but I was more watching the game for a change. It was good solid cricket early, Pakistan hit the right lengths. New Zealand came back well.

Or perhaps as it was mid afternoon on a Monday... most of us were at work??

Perhaps you should ask your Centerlink Case Manager what the word 'work' means...

Or perhaps my occupation means I don't work over summer.

As I said though it's funny how as soon as NZ started to get back into it the sheep shaggers popped up everywhere when they were previously nowhere to be seen. Unusual timing that. Do your work schedules revolve around what the cricket score is?

I am in Hong Kong. Not seeing any cricket. Apparently the Aussie media is saying there was an unsporting act? What was that?

It was a laughable appeal pretty much, even the kiwi commentators hoped it wasn't an appeal. Guptill was the main culprit. A Paki batsman dropped his bat trying to get back into the crease and the Kiwis appealed he ran off his line to stop the ball from hitting the stumps. He wasn't.

So no wicket? No harm? No foul?

Looks like Guptill is out of the nice guy club!

No doubt McCullum will call him out in the media for this unsavory act, and no doubt young Guptill will live to regret his decision.

Most posts would equate to about 5.30pm and after NZ time - that would tie in to a typical work day I'd suggest.

I bowl a heavy ball, but not bachelor of the year material
