Black Caps Daniel Vettori and Jacob Oram have won the inaugural Double Wicket World Champs in St Lucia.
They have beaten the Sri Lankan pair of Aravinda Da Silva and Mahela Jayawardene in the final by 79 runs to finish the competition unbeaten.
Each pair batted 12 overs each - Sri Lanka made 70 and in reply Vettori and Oram smashed 149 with Oram making a century off just 40 balls, including 13 sixes - it was the only century scored in the tournament.
The rules are similar to those used in indoor cricket - when a batsman is dismissed, he remains at the crease but 10 runs are deducted from his team's total.
Vettori and Oram beat Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka in pool play and downed England in the semifinals.
The win is worth almost 120 thousand dollars.

The World's Your Oyster Billy

Cricket umpire Billy Bowden has scored his dream job.
Bowden has been elevated to the elite panel of ICC umpires, with the roster being increased from eight to 11.
Previously New Zealand has not had a representatied the panel of test and one day umpires.
New Zealand umpiring chief Brian Aldridge says Bowden now becomes a fulltime professional umpire.
"He's been guaranteed seven or eight months work a year. He will also spend some of that time at home during the international series in this country over summer. So basically he will on the road overseas for around 6 months of the year.

Aldridge says they have been working hard on getting an umpire, especially Billy Bowden, on to the panel since missing out when it was first set up last year.
