Black Caps Daniel Vettori and Jacob Oram have won the inaugural Double Wicket World Champs in St Lucia.
They have beaten the Sri Lankan pair of Aravinda Da Silva and Mahela Jayawardene in the final by 79 runs to finish the competition unbeaten.
Each pair batted 12 overs each - Sri Lanka made 70 and in reply Vettori and Oram smashed 149 with Oram making a century off just 40 balls, including 13 sixes - it was the only century scored in the tournament.
The rules are similar to those used in indoor cricket - when a batsman is dismissed, he remains at the crease but 10 runs are deducted from his team's total.
Vettori and Oram beat Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka in pool play and downed England in the semifinals.
The win is worth almost 120 thousand dollars.
