Rumours and Stuff

As for Lomax and JAC, I reckon they are on huge money.
What would you consider to be huge money?
I thought the rumour was that we got Lomax on 600ish? Would hardly say that is huge money for someone that just played for Australia and is a goal kicker.
Wouldn't think JAC is on big money either. Suspended for a couple of rounds, injuries. Didn't seem to be too much other interest when we signed him

I'm not going to have a huge cry about it like you..

Just felt like pointing out your hypocrisy
You’re not the one getting singled out by trolls. You might think I deserve it but that’s beside the point. It’s against the rules, and the rules exist for a reason. If I break the rules I’ll be subject to their enforcement. But I’m just here for robust discussion, not to troll merkins I don’t like or find a little crew to help me gang up on somebody. There’s no hypocrisy. I’m not a victim. But if merkins are going to go out of their way to give me a hard time, they better stay within the rules.

I know this isn't the point of your post but I wonder how far Addo-Carr is past it? When he's been on the field his numbers aren't that far off what they were at his peak in Melbourne. Even if going by tries per game he appears to sit just under 1, which looks like the average across his career and this is in a poor attacking team.

Could it be he's past it in terms of being able to stay on the field?
I think with a bit of luck and if he keeps his nose clean, he’s still in origin discussions, but he’s not entirely what he was

Wasn't the value 900k takes up player option it will be a million and his manager is seeing if anyone can pay him 1.2?
We don’t know. Those numbers are certainly plausible but it doesn’t mean they’re accurate. For all we know they are completely made up.
One of the last takes on here on PO.

If they weren't bad for the club why do so many punters journalist and some clubs think they are are bad for clubs?
Punters and journalists seem to think they are get out clauses, and the player would’ve signed for just as long without them. Logic will tell you that’s bullshit.

For the clubs the PO represents risk, which can be difficult to quantify. The downside is a player losing value and remaining at the club when he’s unwanted. An example is Haze Dunster. You wouldn’t want too many players like him on the books. He would be overpaid for sure. I don’t have any inside information but he is obviously worth less than he was when he signed, and the value of the PO would be based on his value at the time, not post injury. That’s just logic, which is worth a lot more than any clickbait shat out by the likes of Michael Carayannis.

If Drown, Moses and Penisini activate their options it will be for an amount we (and the player) were happy with at the time. It would suck if those players only activated their options because they were crippled like Dunster but that’s the risk we accepted. We couldn’t have that much bad luck could we?

Potentially just like Moses

Understand if we are saving 100k whatever really good job to the club..

My gripe is that any 5/8 coming through ala Blaize will be looking for an exit asap due to the unknown of when or if he will resign.

We could be on the lookout for a 5/8 this may for 2026 which isn't good I would think.

If Blaize was signed until the end of this year and Brown goes then we keep her m but now we could lose both.

Bad timing or not future thinking

we're all speculating, arent we?

what else is the point of this forum...
The problem is it’s being spouted as fact, then repeated as fact, reported in media as fact, then we all shake our heads when he signs with Roosters for $900k because all along the $1.2m was some bloke writing a post about how he thinks Drown might be able to get that from someone

@Poupou Escobar maybe you are right.
Penrith just pinched one of Brisbanes best up and coming forwards Armstrong. Perhaps the well has dried up a little out and they've gone for hot young talent. This adds to Blaize and Alamoti last year.

There’s no well, bro. Every good player in your pathways was paid to be there, because they were in demand. Even your local kids, or the non local kids from country NSW where there’s a Panthers academy. You don’t get them just because they live near the training ground or your recruitment centre. They’re there because they’re getting paid. Otherwise some other club would pay them. Penrith lost Katoa because the Dolphins offered more. We lost Talagi because the Panthers offered more. We kept his brother because we either wouldn’t let him break contract or we made a better offer than Penrith.
