What was thenpowerplay for? How did it work? Is it going to be in every game

Power Play = Waste of time...(in my opinion).

I liked the recounting of tackle count in lieu of penalties though. Good to WATCH, but I wouldn't like to play with it....Puff, puff, puff, (but then again I am an old goat)

i was a bit unsure about the restarting the count instead of penalties ... its not that obvious its happening so you are constantly going, oh thats tackle one, oh and that, and that - and you don't even know what it was for ... so i wasn't too impressed with it tbh

powerplays - meh - just wanky crap

It would be hard at a match to distinguish restarts. Easy watching it on TV though, with the commentators calling it...

the good thing about the count restart is it gives you a full set of six running at them while they are backpedalling instead of kicking for touch and giving the defence time to catch their breath and reset the line

its a shame nobody kicked a 20/50 i wanted to see how that would work

I think no injuries to our boys is the most important thing you could ask from this game

It's important from any game. Look at Lillyman who will miss the start of the season because of a trial. I have heard some say that this game is a waste of time and just adds an unnecessary risk of injury but it's really no different to a trial. In fact it's been a good trial for two of our best players who actually had stiff competition rather than a bunch of reserves to face. I'm sure Hindy and Sandow will be better for the run.

A week training with Thurston and Price would have been priceless for Sandow!

last year one of the dragons blew a hamstring at training what do you do sure theres a risk of injury but you have to weigh that against the rewards of playing with and against the best in the game

Trials are played for the club sides though and it's the clubs that pay the players wages. It's also the club's coach choice which players players play, bench rotation, and intensity that his players perform at. Injuries are unlucky but they also can be avoided. Last night's game shouldn't be treated with the same intensity of an NRL match just a weeks before the regular season is about to start. If Hindy or Fui went down with an injury last night and it set them back a month or two we'd all be fuming.

Did anyone else think Hiney played more like a front rower on Saturday night and that it suited his game?

Did notice that Freak

Was definitely in the prop rotation and seemed to play 15min spells

He would probably do hitups like that for the Eels too if he didn't have to tackle so much. Hopefully some our forwards pull their fingers out this season.

Agreed. Hindy has been hitting it up the middle for the past couple of years. It's just had little effect as he's so buggered from tackling. The rest of our backrow needs to step up big time instead of relying on Hindy so much to do the hard work.
