Obvious Changes to be made in Union

I am a league fan but decided to watch the Australia Vs England quarter final with an open mind. Heres a few of my observations to improve union. Bear in mind i dont know fully all the rules of union.

1: Englands first 3 points as a result of a bad clearing kick from the aussies. the ball should be given to England but not allowed to kick a penalty goal from this as it wasnt an infringement on the POMS when they had the ball and were attacking. makes it too easy to score points

2. Time should be tallied everytime there is a scrum reset and added to the end of full time. Got a bit bored and annoyed watching srums reset and reset and at the same time eating up precious time(i was going for the aussies). It takes away the chance of a nailbiting finish...\

3. a definate reduction in the points for penalties...make it 2 points for penalties/conversions, 6 for tries and 1 for field goals. That way it encourages try scoring and is not a carbon copy of leagues point scoring system

4. Points for a try scored from a Scrum/maul..should be less than that scored from the passage of the ball to at least 3 hands. Encourages exciting play.

Over to you experts.

Gotta say i really did enjoy the Fiji games. Now that was nailbiting stuff if u were goin for Fiji.

I agree with the 2 point for penalties but the points for a pushover should not be any different imo

You still have to gain the territory to be close enough to push over so what's the difference.

I'd have two points for Penalty goals and drop goals but hey its Union, they wanna make it a kickathon then its there problem.

Oddly enough rugby fans quite like the rules as they are, that why they turn up in their 1000s to these Rugby World Cup games. Perhaps if the RLWC is played in front of full houses you too can claim the same about your rules being popular with fans.
