Off-Contract centres for 2013

Ok, we all know where the biggest weakness in the team is. Ayshford aside, are there any centres we might be looking at that are off contract? Because my team for 2013 currently looks like this:


Inglis, Merritt, Centre, Centre, Everingham, Keary, Reynolds, Asotasi, Luke, Lima, S.Burgess, Te'o, Sutton.

McQueen, G.Burgess, L.Burgess, Clark/Peats/T.Burgess

Farrell and King will be our centre pairing next season. I agree we need a strike centre along the likes of a Josh Morris or Jennings.

Jennings is being tossed around but I doubt we could fit him under the cap.

Try and get Beau to ask the Tits for a release. His best days were with us.

Brisbane have a young center called Lachlan Maranta off contract. He's big, strong and Brisbane have a lot of depth in outside backs. We should approach him, I really like the look of him.

And I think his best days are gone unfortunately. Although there's not much around so for the right price I guess he could at least provide some competition in the spot.

A big fast YOUNG gun, is the right go , we should be targetting the best of the young ones currently off contract .A $200-300k investment to pull the next Hurrell is better than $600k needed for Jennings. King can be used to assist their development during 2013.

I would be VERY surprised if he stepped straight into first grade next year.

In the fairwell video shown at our last home game the list of players we where saying fairwell to included Ryan Carr, Neccrom Areaiiti, Blake Judd, Brendan McKinnon, and Curtis Johnston. As well as Geddes, DT and Eddie. So I'd say they are all GOOOOONE!!

I think most people would agree with you but until there are valid options available to replace him with, there is not much point in being too vocal about it. Just have to hope there is a young bloke that impresses in the off season.

Would it be worth bringing Junior Vai Vai back? He wouldn't cost much and we all know he can play.

If we dont sign anyone would someone like Tyrone Phillips be ready for the NRL next year after a big pre season?

Hmm Matt King is a tricky one, some days he can be really decent, some days he can just be really blagh and make really stupid mistakes. I'm sure next year will be his last in his 10 year career.
