The rule says you must play the ball with your foot touching the ball but if the ball dont roll they say its a knock on long as it goes in backward move its fine you see some players have two or three goes at playing it but if they touch it that is fine there is no rule saying how far it has to roll, but they let you roll it under your legs as long as you move your leg in the play the ball motion another crap rule change.

The player should be made to stand up and eye ball the marker then bend over and play it that is what the juniors have to do and that is the way they ref it , it would slow the play the ball down yes but cut alot of crap out .

on playing the ball the player must play it where he got tackled not moving forward or sideways or its a penalty that is the rule but in the nrl they play under rafferty"s rules made up as we go thanks to Hollywood

if you watch souffs when they get up to play the ball step to the left or right to catch markers not square they get alot of penalty also when luke scoots from dummy half the player playing the ball will interfear with the markers its never policed. the rule says that the person playing the ball or the marker can not touch'

sorry about the type os im a prop

Let the marker strike for the ball again as soon as it hits the ground. None of this put the ball on the ground and push myself up off it to get up sh*t.

With walking off the mark, it happens too much. I wonder if the refs would be more inclined to crackdown on it if instead of a penalty, it was just a change over of possession.

yes contest the play the ball again and play the ball forward again after a good run down field or kick the ball into the in goal from five meters out to score all from the play the ball because the old rule said you could play the ball in any direction also id like to see a 20m or 30m penalty for repeat infringments that would reduce alot of penalties for eg. you get penalised once ok but 3rd or 4th you get marched

They made a big song and dance about penalising it in 2011, As usual with the policing of these things it fell by the wayside by about round 7 or 8

And yes, it shits me also, especially when two to three meters are stolen and the markers are penalised,

Was just about to post this, I remember watching a trial game where anyone who got up from a tackle and played the ball a couple of inches ahead got pinged for it.

As it stands now you can play the ball an entire body length ahead and nothing happens.

The sad thing is that we wouldn't be talking about any of this if the refs did their job. Police every single rule of every minute of every game, simple as that. No more of this crack down on particular rules shit.
