Offer Jarome Luia a mega deal

Waste of time. When we miss out, we'd look even stupider than we do now.
Exactly! Just imagine offering him $1.5M a year for 4 years - like way over for this overrated player and he thinks about it for a day or two and his manager comes back and says a big fat NO. We would look so bad that not even the rejects and journeymen would want to come to us then.

It isn't all money. It is the brand itself and how it is structured and where it is located and the general feel for this club. At the moment to me it feels like it is a club that if you go to it you will be called a "loser".

All it would have taken for us to get out of this shithole was for us to get AFB at least. We might have been able to turn the corner and get other decent ones. I now have serious doubts that we will land any of the Cowboys like Luki and Finefeuiaki or even Leilua.

It only takes one though so please Flanno and you other guys in recruitment, try your hardest to get at least one worthy/decent player.

Yaa we backed our horse in Dearden... we wont win over Luai now whos either in with the tigers already, or if not itll be gus/ciraldo.. theres nothing we can do to persuade him at this stage.. we just look really desperate as others have said, which wont help signing the next player.

Definitely won't get him if we don't ask. And who said we have to make it so public. Do it quietly like the Sharks did with AFB. If the media asks, say no we didn't. Cards close to chest

Because we have Kyle Flanagan with a win ratio of about 30% at his last club. Who would want a 3 straight premiership player plus we don’t have the money.
Not really a fair comparison...1 from the side that won 3 in a row and the other from a side marginally better than us.
Luai didn't look so good in origin without Cleary ....

If he ends up at the tigers, lets see if he is a game breaker worth the mega dollars he is on...

Time will tell..

P.S we signed Kyle as a 14.... who can cover multiple positions...that's why we went after Welsby...

Anyway, best wishes for a safe Christmas @thebigredv and hopefully things improve in 24.

Who is playing 6 for us next year?

oh yep, Kyle. The bloke we bought to fill in at 14. That’s Dragons for you. Stop gap measures before the next season has begun.

Luai boat has sailed but I definitely would love see a combo of Luai and Hunt over anything we currently have.

Will be interesting to see how he goes in an less dominant team. Yes, perhaps will be less influential I cannot deny but I would have gone all out for him given the departure of Bud and Junior.

merry Christmas mate! Let’s hope we have a Christmas miracle.

Yep he is good but as you say been playing in a Grand Final team , if he came to us he won't be as dominant I know he is better than we have ...... Anyway not for that sort of money ......

He comes across as a bit cocky and obnoxious but I reckon our team could do with someone who has that competitive edge and air of confidence.

generally these players are brought back a bit when they go from world beaters to lowly ranked teams, it’s true but what can a team as desperate at us do?

Agree...not worth the enormous offers on the table for him.. and extremely cocky... lets see how cocky he is without the rest of his penrith mates...ala Burton etc

Flanno is trying....not his fault that he inherited a basket case...

AFB to Sharks because he wants to win a premiership

Dearden was always an outside chance...

Welsby didn't want to leave U.K...

Little available for 24 that we wanted in terms of locking in long term deals.
That's why we signed Eisenhuth / Allan to 1 year deals

Best case scenario is we are fit and more competitive next year...and winning more games makes us a more attractive destination for players...

Dragons already have a competitive and confidence player, Birdy!
