Official 2013 NFL Draft Thread

Alright ladies and gents, we're just over 12 hours away from the draft and I couldn't wait to get this bad boy started.

Really looking forward to this, I know this draft isn't top heavy on elite talent like last year, but if anything I think it makes this draft even more intriguing. So much speculation surrounding the top picks unlike years past, so much depth as some position (WR, S, CB) means that there's great value in rounds 2 and 3.

For the 49ers, we really need to come away from this draft with a starting FS to replace Goldson, a Dlineman who can help out with the pass rush and be Justin Smith's eventual successor, a replacement TE for Walker, and I'd like to see us come away with 2 CBs from a stacked class.

So many questions to be answered, where will the QBs go? How high does Austin go? How about the Honey Badger?

Some predictions from me

- 4 QBs to go in first round
- EJ Manuel will go top 10

I think Star drops further than people think, as does Cyprien, Patterson and Carradine

I think Philly holds the key to this draft early. Really interested to see what they do, they hold the key assuming that Joeckel, Fisher and Floyd go top 3 (which I have doubts about Floyd). They will hold the rights to Lane Johnson, do they take him given he fits everything Chip Kelly wants in a OT and also allows them to kick Herremans to guard, or do they trade back with someone like Detroit or Arizona

Wouldn't surprise me to see Philly take Dion Jordan if he's available, obviously the coaches know him, and Philly needs someone like him

Biggest "disappontment" for me is that we only get to see the first round tomorrow haha, I wanna get into the rest of it ASAP.

Steelers have needs right across the board, I've got no idea which order they'll attack them in. I've made it clear in other posts I want an instant contributor early on, so that basically rules out a defensive player in the LeBeau system, a wide receiver, Eifert, Cooper are the guys I'm looking at. Trading down is probably the preferred option though.

Yeah that's a really logical pick, that's why think it won't happen haha

I'm still not convinced that the Jags will take a tackle, I think it's a smokescreen to try and get someone to trade up, if they stay put I think they take Jordan

I predict no more then one QB being taken in the 1st round

There is speculation that the rams will trade up to get austin and then trade down to recoup the lost pick.

I'd rather they hang tight at 16 and trade down the 22 pick. They're in a good spot for a team wanting to trade up for a qb.

Who would you prefer out of Eifert, Cooper, Vaccaro and Jones?

Probably Cooper, would be happy with either at 17.

It would be dull to take Cooper but it's a can't miss pick, there is no depth at guard/center and there is a guard spot open for him, Foster re-signed but they didn't give him guaranteed starter money. Cooper's capability to fill in at center is a big plus.

Eifert adds to the passing game, Miller will start the season on the PUP list.

My view would be very different if we were an 11-5 playoff team rather than an 8-8 team with a lot of departures, there needs to be some impact from whoever is drafted early, it's hard to ignore history and see a guy like Jones being in there from day one, that's what sways me. Same goes for any D player in the first round.

17 is a great spot to be in, there's going to be quality to pick from. Whatever way they go it should be easy to be content even if it is Jones or another D player, the staff know way more than me obviously and I have little reason to doubt them, unlike some other front offices lol.

Rams very interested in Lacy in the first is something I've read.

The rams have alot of needs and could go any way. Would be happy with almost anyone except lacy.

Happy drafting all... For the eagles im hoping day one ends with Fisher/Joeckel and Ej Manual either an Eagle or still on the board

Dion Jordan i could be happy with, Floyd and Star would be my picks if the two tackles are off the board. If the pick ends up being Lane Johnson, im cool with that too.

Do not want to see Geno Smith with the Eagles. As long as Geno isnt drafted as an eagle, im happy
