There is nothing about his contract that prevents him playing but the foot is not ready.

I honestly don’t see what you guys see in Lawson for him to make the squad in 3-5 weeks. Yes played well first trial game but was unsighted in the 15 he played in the second trial!
I think he’s a long way off. Yes will debut but if we’re winning games and injury free I don’t think he’ll play many games.

He was given 13 mintues at the end ... took 5 decent runs and the only tackles he was called on to made (2). If you couldnt sight him then sounds like you may need to work out what he looks like.

he needs to play round 1 in reserves for sure to actually complete a full game of rugby league but if he shines in reserves there is no reason he doesnt get an early call up .. esp if Feagai continues to show those poor defensive decions and lack of speed/urgency to turn and chase.

He would not have been unsighted if selected to play outside of Holmes. I'm not suggesting he should switch wing spots, but I am saying that the ball did not come his way. Suli and Lawson need to strike up a combination ASAP. Lawson is a much better player than other contenders.

Yeah I think only because of space. It is a strange arrangement though. Apparently the NRL was going to provide exemption for union players for the first year, which means it would make sense to put them in the 30 and pay them well. Instead we have him on a supplementary contract which I think last year was about $80k plus $3k per game. So not sure how this all works.

Obviously we couldn't put him in the 30 as we ran out of outside back spots. Plus I don't think the nrl have finalised the Union exemption system yet?

Still, he'll be on way less than top 30 minimum wage. Surely there must be a gentleman's agreement with Flanagan that when a top 30 spot opens up for an outside back he's a shoe-in on decent cash?

Actually just googled Rugby 7's earnings. Very low compared to the top players in the 15 aside game and nrl. So maybe it was a gamble worth taking for him.

No trial game means he won't be starting against the Bulldogs I think. He won't be match fit.
