Official 2013 NFL Draft Thread

It certainly does seem though that the Cowboys panicked, traded back for minimal value then shot their load on a guy who would've been around later

Reports though are that the Cowboys-49ers deal had been negotiated that morning so it wasn't a hasty deal done with the clock ticking

All the talk in the past couple of weeks is that Dallas could trade down. They were never going to trade up, which is what they would have to do if they wanted Cooper or Warmack. I heard a whisper about a week ago that a Dallas/San Fran trade was on the cards. Now it could have been just a coincidence that the trade did turn out that way.

As I have said elsewhere the Cowboys were high on Fredericks. Looking at the ProFootball Weekly Draft Guide, Fredericks was rated the forth best guard/centre. Behind Cooper, Warmack and Winters. Winters hasn't been taken yet, but he is a guard who can play tackle. Dallas was looking for someone who can play guard/centre.

The biggest weakness the Cowboys had last season was the OL, especially the interior of the line. That's why they were looking for a guard/centre type of player.

Now I am not making excuses for the selection. My opinion as with most is that he was drafted at least a round too early.

It's not robbery at all if the 3, let me say again THREE guys we got in the first round all deliver. Someone may have taken him before us or we wouldn't get a decent trade opportunity. Rick said he didn't want to risk not getting him so they were aggressive.

Patterson has been very over hyped by the media, he wasnt even the best WR at Tenn, not worth what was paid, if he somehow becomes very special then it may be worth it. But there was 3 Receivers that are better than him still on the board.

Well that's the debatable part. Whether there would have been as good an option at our later picks.

I think he'll be a good one.

Alright so here is my top 5 for the 49ers pick #34

1) CB Darius Slay, Mississippi State
2) CB Jamar Taylor, Boise State
3) DT Kawann Short, Purdue
4) WR Justin Hunter, Tennessee
5) TE Travis Kelce, Cincinatti

Guys I wouldn't be upset with

TE Zach Ertz, Stanford
TE Gavin Escobar, San Diego State
WR Keenan Allen, California
WR Robert Woods, USC
RB Montee Ball, Wisconsin

I'm a bit surprised that Justin Hunter is still on the board

While I would prefer to see us take CB at #34, Hunter has all the tools to be a stud in this league provided he can clean up his drops

Cosell believes he's the most gifted WR in this class

I was really hoping he would fall to the panthers.

also the panthers were only seriously looking at Tyler Eifert and Xavier Rhodes for the 14th pick if star wasn't available

that's who i wanted the rams to take because i thought austin would be long gone before the rams first pick. i didn't think there was any way the rams were gonna go up and get austin but the guys running the rams now have balls of steel, so all rams fans are thankful for that.

hunter just has that look. that look that says - this guy is a nfl wr.

if he can fix the drops some team is gonna get the steal of the draft.

If Buffalo end up with Justin Hunter and Arthur Brown.....DAMN I will be one happy Bill.

If we can then turn it around in Round 3 and get Jamie Collins or Travis Kelce....Micky would be very happy.

1. EJ Manuel QB
2 (a) - Justin Hunter WR
2 (b) - Arthur Brown - ILB/OLB
3 - Travis Kelce TE

IMO that would help Buffalo immensely.

id like to think if the eagles wanted Geno, they'd have moved ahead of the Jags in the top of the 1st to ensure they got them

at least thats what im hoping

The Jags have selected S John Cyprien from FIU. So it's not Banks

Wow....Bengals would be pissed.

Spanner in the works already
